Ive been getting the chance to check out this place almost always during the Christmas season for the past 6 years at least and always the lighting displays amaze me. Its literally an evening instagram location, just so many folks around though. The place itself is safe even late in the evenings because youll see the police around. Its always lively and quite the best place to mix with the locals. I think they should not permit the ambulant vendors around though.

Guingona park was renovated from a local plaza to a wide city square with it wide spaces for city celebrations and local events. The plaza used to be a bit sketchy in the afternoon and borderline dangerous in the evenings with a lot of pocket shades and corners which were home to a lot of homeless and sketchy people. Today, the open spaces gives better security and the persistent roving of city cops were reassuring.Best time to visit is at 4pm onwards when the breeze flow from the Agusan river to the city. This is the well known park of Butuan City. Christmas lightnings and other activities are held here specially PNP trainings.

Because i have lots of memories left there.
