First time namin magstay sa watergate hotel last sept.19, 2018... the hotel and location of the hotel is superb. However, the staff sa mga oras na yun (front desk) ay para yatang bagohan at di agad na settle yung accommodation namin. And, by the time na umalis kami... I dont know is they checked the room thoroughly dahil naiwan ko charger ko sa phone ko (mura nga lang naman yun) pero hindi man lang nila napansin? for now... 3s muna... sa mga staff... may room for improvement pa... sayang yung place if the service(s) is/are not good.

Great friendly staff. the hotel was fully booked and they kept up with the rush. Room clean and tidy. The cable channels have disappeared since I last stayed here.Breakfast was still delicious and fast Wi-Fi

The ambience is good and the staff are very friendly. The pool is very clean. They also have souvenir items such as ground coffee, exotic wine, indigenous items and etc.The hotels interior are made of wood and the furnitures are mostly handcrafted.

I got to stay here for two nights while visiting relatives in Butuan City. I had a wonderful stay. The beds were so comfortable and the pillow so fluffy. The hot shower was amazing and so is the pool. They perfectly made up my room when I requested them to.The best part is that their internet is so fast, which is great for me as a Digital Nomad. I had no problems doing my work there. The breakfast was also great, and there was free-flowing coffee.The staff were also very friendly and accommodating. There is a gift shop at the hotels lobby as well. And there are function rooms for events. Overall, Watergate was so pleasant to stay at and I super love their contemporary architecture!

This hotel looks not really good from the outside but from the inside is all really clean and new. Many people are there you can hang out at the pool at night time and you see people in the pool and you see wedding guest there. You also see a lot foreigners here.It’s like 5 min drive to Robinson mall by taxi and jeepney maybe 10 minutes and you pay 10 php.I recommend you to stay here because I also stayed in almost all of the good hotels in butuan.Short Tipp!!Check online prices are higher than if you are there by person and rent a room

The place has a very nice ambiance. It does feel like home. The commodities are accessible.

My third visit in that Hotel. Never stayed overnight - so this is just a comment about the Restaurant and convention halls and ambient.Its the second newest Hotel after Hotel Oazis in Butuan - so all is in a very good condition. The pool is very clean and so nice in evening.The food at the Restaurant is great and not to expensiv if we mentioned its a hotel restaurant!There are also different conventionhalls, that you can book for your event - of course with aircon, different sizes and good service over all.What i heared from friends - but not my own experience - the rooms are also in perfect shape, clean and affordable.

The staff are lovely. My favorite part of the hotel is their lobby where youll find some local art. Rooms are clean and comfortable. I highly recommend to anyone who visits Butuan.

The room is clean, aircon is not noisy and the temperature can be adjusted. It has a dedicated cabinet for your clothes (few hangers provided) and bags/luggages, working safe box, mini refrigerator, water heater, soap, shampoo, towels, and slippers (available upon request). Breakfast buffet is good.

The place is amazing! The room is very spacious and clean. Staff are friendly. Will definitely recommend this place. We stayed at the presidential suite room.

The little things make this hotel special. Here are the details about staying at Watergate that made our stay comfortable and pleasant:1. The shower’s hot water is very reliable. It was so nice have a hot bath after a tiring day.2. The complimentary water comes in a pitcher. No big deal, eh? But its really neat to have a nice supply that you can easily pour in a glass of water.3. There are establishments just outside the hotel - 24hr convience store, salon, diagnostic center, chinese restaurant with a room delivery service.4. In less than a hundred steps from the hotel, you can get to Weegol’s Restaurant (ihaw ihaw and buco halo halo) and a Seafood restaurant that serves fresh seafood (I loved their scallop cauliflower dish)5. The airport transfer service is only Php250 per head. Its a 15-20minute drive to the airport and the service is an Innova.6. The nooks and corners of the hotel are instagram-worthy. It’s nice to find a cozy spot for reading or just for chilling :)

Very friendly hotel in city center of Butuan. Everything in reach. Bathrooms are small, like the rooms, but very practical and in good condition.

Checked into room for 3 days. Forget to give towels. Upgraded to best room their suite. Conditions not good. Reported damage to room upon arrival. So I did not get extra charges. When leaving they offer shuttle to airport. Said 250 peso for trip charge 500 said it was 250 per person. Did not disclose. Then charged me $500 peso for a missing plate that we had no idea was supposed to be in room. They said it is not there fault. Was charged for something I did not know about. Wanted to have a great trip there but they wanted to charge us for things we did not do. Try to report to them but they only said sorry nothing we can do and would not investigate when I asked

I would say that this was one of the good hotels I’ve had the opportunity to stay in. It’s not big and doesn’t have a lot of amenities (there is a pool though). However, if you just want a comfortable place to stay in with value for money, this is more than enough. Aside from that, the staff members were very helpful and will literally jump at the chance to assist their guests. One room for improvement though is the quality of their breakfast selection. If you come in late for breakfast, you would have less options. It’s not bad but it could improve a lot. Note that their breakfast is server by a third-party provider.

This is a nice place to stay. The staff are very friendly, accomodating. The WIFI is great, plus the place is so amazing! I love the pool. The room is soooo clean. I would love to stay here again. And oh! they offer a wonderful breakfast

It was a very good and nice place. Really good breakfast buffet. Very convenient and close to malls and transportation.

Charged us for items that we did not even know where in the room. Said a dish was missing that we did not know about. They did not leave us towels had to find a housekeeper to give them to us. Charged extra for transportation to airport. When questioned about charges they said sorry sir. We will not release until you pay we let them know when we checked into room about damaged remote, damaged door and other things not working to avoid being blamed but they still found a way to charge us our deposit. Horrible experience. Go to hotel Oasis or Dotties place

The hotel staff was attentive and very polite. I stayed here twice during my time in the Philippines. The first two nights, my room had a noisy AC, but otherwise was comfortable, and clean. Quiet AC in my 2nd room at the end of my time there. Good restaurants and malls nearby, and easy access to transportation. The pool was quite nice as well. All in all, an excellent time.

Good choice for a budget friendly stay. There breakfast offerings are a bit less yet the food preparation is delicious. You may also use their pool.

Well, technically I was just in one of their function rooms for a seminar. Place was great. From the outside and based on the service I experienced, I can say that it was good. The staff were friendly and smiling. The ambience of the lobby was awesome. It was warm and calm. Their parking lot is too small. I understand the availability of space but they should have planned for a better parking lot. Probably, underground parking or an adjacent building for parking.

Room sizes are ok, good tv size, dining room is too small for a hotel this size, egg station needs exhaust fan, guests clothes smells because of this, housekeeping skills also needs to be improved

Contacted the Watergate staff 2 days in advance about checking in early. They said they would contact me if possible. They didnt contact me, the hotel wasnt even close to being full.They have a difficult time answering the phone even though they have 3 different phone numbers.

Consistently good and is a normal place to stay when in town. The free breakfast is wonderful and the high speed WiFi.

Staff are very friendly, room is nice, if you are in lite room they dont have soap, so better buy one.. standard and above have soap and dental kit.. food is okay..

Ive been to this place. Super cool. Love their pool and their rooms. Staff were also very accommodating during our stay and its very accessible to everything plus affordable. I will definitely love to visit and stay at this place again.

Swimming pool needs a good clean, floating debris & rocks on pool floor. Edging tiles also need resealing.Room good except toilet seat hinge broken. Everything else was fine.

Breakfast was good.Very disappointed about transportation. Almont transferred us to the hotel at no charge. Watergate did not offer and also charged a large fee to transfer us to bus station.

I like the style but you can hear the music outside your room and noise. Terrible experience not able to sleep. Also, the service they told us they will bring our breakfast in our room coz we are leaving early we waited and called the front desk they told us we could proceed to the restaurant which we did but when we check out they gave us the breakfast pack that we should have at 6 am and should be delivered in our room but they charge us for taking our breakfast in the restaurant. No coordination and they never delivered what they have promised us. Terrible service! Also the door lock was fixed only during the time we are in the room. Will not recommend to anyone. Bad experienced!

Beim Check-In wurden wir 4 Personen einem Zimmer zugeteilt. Dank der schriftlichen Bestätigung von Hotels.com konnten wir dann beweisen, dass wir zwei Doppelzimmer gebucht und bezahlt hatten. Eines der 2 Zimmer mussten wir nach einer Nach wechseln, da direkt vor dem Fenster Bauarbeiten mit einem Presslufthammer durchgeführt wurden. Wir mussten 2 mal extra Klopapier anfordern, da pro Zimmer nur eine Rolle (teilweise schon halb leer) vorhanden war. Beim Auschecken versuchte man uns dann nochmals den vollen Zimmerpreis zu berechnen, obwohl alles zuvor bereits über Hotel.com bezahlt war. Das Restaurant ist klein, das Frühstück gewinnt auch keinen Michelin Stern.

This was our second stay here and we just love it ! The staff was very attentive the room was nice and clean the restaurant had amazing food ! We will stay here again and definitely recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the area .

We stayed at Watergate and Oasiz as we were there for about a month and neither hotel was available for the entire durring of our trip. Room comfort is comparable where the room we had at Oasis was slightly bigger and it had a better layout, but we liked Watergate better because of modern inverter type AC that was more quite and had multiple temperature and airflow settings making it a better experience as the other AC unit would wake us up Im the middle of the night due to noise and the room getting too cold as ot only had a level setting vs. temperature setting. The other plus for Watergate was the quality of their breakfast as it was diverse and it had a number of entries that one could pick from depending on their taste. Only one of the many breakfasts we had there was bland, which it may have been the day off for their main cook. We actually skipped breakfast as Oasiz a number of times as it lacked variety and taste. They do have a smaller pool as compared to Oasiz. The one at Watergate is more cozy.

The function halls are classy and elegant. Perfect venue for seminars, parties and weddings. The food also are good.

10/10This hotel has truly exceeded my expectations in all areas. Luxury atmosphere, excellent service, and functional and well-designed rooms. The aesthetic language in here pleases me as well.

Clean rooms. Excellent service. Breakfast buffet lacks variety but then again worth the price.
