Staying at Paradores Del Castillo was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The reception is great, and they spoke well English. The historic touch and beautiful design, both in the public areas of the hotel and the rooms made a fantastic atmosphere. The swimming pool is excepted to open in September 2019, and there is both a bar and a restaurant connected to the hotel. Not to mention, free and well working wifi. Paradores Del Castillo was simply an amazing experience.

Upon arrival at the main location we were told the actual rooms will be 5min away. It is a restored home bahay na bato.it was a beautiful place. It has all the amenities of New world but the charm of the past. It has a huge dining table, 5 beds, hot and cold showers a quiet private garden. It is a change from modern hotels. Its location is ideal since there are plenty of historic homes in the city of Taal.

We found this hotel the same day that we need a place to stay in. We badly needed good sleep!Booked their family room but later learned it on their annex. But because we’re too tired to transfer, we opted to stay at the main hotel for a connecting room for 5!Overall really good experience. Old colonial house converted to a hotel with old and great furniture and fixtures. AC and Bed was winner! There’s an infinity pool but we didn’t get to try it.

Great place, will certainly return. Wifi could be better and having the restaurant / bar open a little later would have been welcome because the room never had anything like a tea or coffee making facilities but other than that, we would go prepared for that next time. Hotel had been renovated to its original style and was done very well. Looking forward to returning.

Not yet a year old, this hotel has everything done perfectly, up to the little fried quail egg that they put on top of the rice for breakfast. Having only 7 rooms, it is small enough that one feels at home but since it has lots of open areas - there are salas upstairs and downstairs and a big balcony, plus a really big garden - one also gets a sense of privacy. The staff are friendly and helpful. Food is good. You can ask for your breakfast to be served in the garden. It is just two blocks from the Taal Basilica but in a quiet part of town and sits on a ridge so that the garden overlooks the Church of our Lady of Caysasay and its environs, and the town of Lemery and even faraway Mt. Batulao.

The staff were very obliging to our requests, congrats on this! And the breakfast food (part of the room package) was delicious. The downside: it was inconvenient to be in their annex (Casa Herencia--Avocado and Papaya family suites) since you need to travel via shuttle to the main hotel (Paradores del Castillo) just to eat breakfast. The swimming pool is not in the main hotel nor in the annex, its in a third location--again, you need to use their shuttle just to go swimming.

Beautiful hotel full of character and charm. Rooms are clean and comfortable. You can tell that all fixtures and decor were chosen very thoughtfully. The food is also delicious, and they have a great selection of delicacies on sale to bring home. The town of Taal is a must visit, very accessible from Metro Manila and with lots to see and do. Through the hotel you can arrange a tour or a picture taking session in period costumes set in a beautifully restored old house. Note: the house was used as the setting for several quality Filipino films. The town of Taal and the Paradores are highly recommended!
