I use the boat ramp almost weekly and I love fishing there. The ramp is clean and the entire area feels safe and friendly. I launch my kayak early and have never had a problem.

We already pay for these places with our TAXES, and pay some more for fishing licenses, and pay again to park in the City Parking lots, then when and where each individual is allowed and for how long changes depending on misc. differences in vehicles. There is a paved boat launch ramp at Cabrillo Beach which has recently (May 2015) been redredged to be able to accommodate larger boats. If your boat has a high draft consider using the boat launch at High Tide. Click here for the NOAA Cabrillo Beach Tide Chart for the date you’re interested. You can use this ramp to launch your own boat. The boat lauch ramp is best reached from Shoshonean Road off Via Cabrillo Marina. It is open from 5:30 AM to 10:30 PM and has trailer parking, boat wash facilities and restrooms. Parking is $2.00/hr for vehicle and boat trailer to a maximum of $15.00 per day. There is no extra charge for the boat launch ramp. Vehicles with a boat trailer attached may be left over night or for several days at $15.00 per day. Vehicles without a boat trailer attach cannot be left over night and may be towed if left past 10 PM. Payment is made in cash or credit card at the kiosk.The beach is run by the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation. Everyone crying about the price of parking is just ridiculous. Its 9 bucks a day. Thats nothing. Stay at home if you dont like it.
