The amount served as dinner combination was a little overwhelming: soup, salad, two entrees along with a rice bowl. The chirashi donburi was also with lots of fish. When we arrived around 6:20, there were only a few seats left. And by the time we left around 7:15, there were at least 10 guests waiting outside. The main take way is: come early for dinner!

Great beef teriyaki and fresh sushi.

We had the lunch special with baked mirugai and mushroom kinoko which tastes really good. The fish miso soup has lots of daikon. The restaurant is quite busy. We were lucky that we didnt wait to long to get two bar seats. The waitress is very nice, too!

Best Japanese food in South Bay area!

Came here on mothers day, waited for about 20mins to be seated, and about 40mins wait for our food to come so they gave us an edamame on the house. I ordered the daily special which came with vinegar rice with sashimi, seaweed salad and salmon skin on the top, a piece of grilled salmon and salmon miso soup. Food was good as always and definitely worth the wait!!

Chirashi bowls are top notch. Sushi rice is of great quality and the fish is really fresh.

Takoyaki octopus balls are better at Tomisushi than in Tokyo

The restaurant is great and broad, the menu was delicious and the prices were very economical. quickly, effective service and very attentive staff. Highly recommended.

This is my go-to spot in San Jose, the food is beautifully simple and delicious, and the staff is super friendly.

I am letting you guys in on the secret. This is THE place where the expatriat Japanese(read REAL) go for sushi prepared by chefs from Japan.

Excellent sushi and bento box place near West San Jose. The wait time is pretty long on weekdays at lunch and weekends at dinner, so get there ahead of time and put your name down on the reservation list. But this place is totally worth the wait!

One of the best Japanese restaurant Ive been to in the South Bay. They have a great variety of very fresh fish. The staff is very nice.

The place was quite busy for lunch even though it was almost time to close. Seems like a popular place. I had the special chirashi bowl which was pretty filling. Fish tasted fresh and service was quick. Would come here again!

Outstanding location for quality Sushi. The service was very helpful and observant. The bill was fair I would say.

We were charged wrong amount, (They mistook our order), complained about it, and the waitress still charged us for the wrong order even after she had told us she was going to fix it. We didnt want to argue so we just let it slide, but it was clearly not a pleasant experience.

Right on Tomi Sushi! Straightforward menu. Good sushi. Asian flair. Fun staff. I will be back. Love the Tuna roll. Exquisite taste.

Tomi Sushi is a top-notch Japanese restaurant that has fresh fish, excellent cooked food, and great lunchtime deals! Get there just before they open to be guaranteed seating; the daily special is usually an excellent deal. If youre into chirashi bowls, Tomi Sushi produces a decent one, but by far, the best bang for your buck will be the daily deal!

Love this place however it’s gotten so popular it difficult to get in unless you’re willing to wait an hour. They used to call you once your seating became available. ... not anymore

My wife and I love this place. The food is consistently good, except for this one time we got the omakase nigiri and it wasnt as good as normal. the hamachi lunch specials are great and the omakase nigiri is usually very good. The Miso soups have a lot of umami

Fantastic traditional sushi, great staff!

Great sushi here and they have tasty green tea ice cream. The place is small, but cozy. Sometimes, the wait is long, so go early or have some backups nearby.
