We stayed here 9 years ago and we loved it then so we decided to stay here again 9 years later. We loved our stay. Our room was great. Service and staff are impeccable. And the breakfast buffet was amazing! One thing is that compared from our last stay, you can tell that it’s been 9 years. Some upgrades, new coat of paint etc could really make this place more amazing. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

The reason I gave it a 3 star rating is simply because it is a 3 star establishment, not 4 as they advertise. If it were a 3 star place it would have gotten 5 stars from me. The Entrance the Lobby and swimming pool area look like they belong in a 4 star establishment, however, as soon as you start walking through the valley of the shadow dea.... wait what? Scrape that for now. If youll end up staying there (which I dont advise against) youll know exactly what I mean, because the place sheds of a star as soon as you enter the hallway. Looks like they spent the budget on the main area, and had to make due with what was cheaper. From the doors to the thickness (or lack-there-of) of the walls, and windows from the TV to the tiles, everything feels cheap. The room is spacious, as is the bathroom, the staff is friendly and in the area u can easily find within walking distance a Micky D, KFC, Starbucks, Bugger King and a few other reputable local franchises. In conclusion, if you are attending a wedding ceremony at the Masonic Temple Building down the street, or visiting someone at the hospital this is probably your best bet. I just feel that the 4 star rating is not deserved and I doubt that ther is any maintaince work that can fix the state of the hallways, bathrooms and noise cancellation.

The hotel is already aged but well kept. Seems like the washrooms need reno. Staff in the front desk and entrance were all friendly and courteous. My only complaint are the towels. For a hotel like that, I was expecting more presentable towels. The bath towels which were supposed to be of white colour, were gray or off white now. I suggest some bleaching to be done. There’s a pool, looks nice but didnt go for a deep, maybe next time. There are a lot, as in a lot of restaurants and convenience stores like 7-eleven or mini stop in the area. Some of the restaurants are open 24hrs. However nothing else to see around if u are after sight seeing. Mostly hospitals in that area. And actually the reason why we stayed here was bcoz we hv a family member confined in one of the hospitals nearby, very convenient. Overall the stay was great. Lastly, may I also suggest to include some face towels in the bathroom amenities ansd maybe a hair dryer.

This facility has been around since the 60’s and was very popular back then. It’s a full service hotel and the staff are just fabulous and friendly. It could use some refresher in the rooms and bathrooms which are all dated. Other than that I would stay in this hotel over and over again. It’s my home away from home.

I had a reservation for 9 days but at check in they had me there for only one night. The Front Desk resolved this problem quickly though and I was able to stay 9 days. No microwave in room. TV a bit small. Coffee pots cord was only 6 inches long and would not reach the counter from the socket. I had to hold it while it boiled the water. Everyone was courteous and polite and helpful. No bulk food items from outside allowed. Why not? What if I dont want to eat at the overpriced restaurant on the premises? Swimming pool was nice. Very conveniently located near lots of restaurants and hospital (which was the reason for my stay, only a five minute walk to hospital).

We were not able to stay at this hotel because our vacation was cut short by an erupting volcano. We had failed to cancel and did not check in. The hotels policy was no refunds on cancellation. But because we didnt check in, they categorized our reservation as a no show and only charged us for one night instead of 6. I appreciated that.

All Staffs are very friendly and locality is very nice with ample restaurants around the hotel. Its not uncommon to find tiny cockroaches in buffet area, i found one in my food and stop eating from there after. Wifi signal is very week and most of the time wont connect. Few complaints made and no action taken. If you are on business trip, think before you book room in this hotel. I wont book this hotel on my next trip.

If it was for the staff, it would be 5 stars, but this is an overall review so 3 stars it is.I booked this hotel because of its location, and by going on reviews online. The hotel structure is very old, and you have to keep that in mind. The interior has been renovated and the beds, etc. are aesthetically pleasing, however the bathroom not so much. I had a leaky shower and it was fixed with tape... the tiles had some grey-ish pattern to them... the fixtures even though seem modern are either shonkily installed or not straight or moves...I get the paper every morning which is nice. Room servicing is inconsistent though. Most days they do an incredible job, some days it seems that they phone it in. Last night I returned to see the dirty cutlery and crockery uncollected, and coffee unreplenished. Had to ask reception to bring me fresh cups, but they never arrived. The coffee and tea did though. Oh... and bring your Off! Insect repellent. Ive got a mozzie bite collection now that I get to take back to Melbourne, and 90% of the bites happened while I was in my room. Awesome AC, do dunno how these critters got me.THIS IS THE DEAL BREAKER: the NOISE. The guests yell at each other up and down the halls, and they seem to tolerate it. Happens all hours of the day. Then they host a pool party that went until midnight, with loud music and chatter. My room is right next to the pool. For such a small hotel, they shouldnt organise events that bring discomfort to their guests at night.However... I have to give a shout out to most of the staff. They always acknowledge me with a greeting, and are very polite all the time. With exception of one female supervisor (Ill try and find out her name and Ill post it here) who was a bit condescending and passive aggressive rude.... what the locals would call antipatika. If they get rid of her, everyone else is absolutely brilliant.Would I stay again? Probably only if I had to. Get rid of that manager, then I would reconsider. Its a pity the hotel management dont read/care about these reviews.

I had the most unpleasant & terrible experience at Sulo Hotel. I regret that I stayed here & chose this instead of checking in at one of the hotels around resorts world as I originally planned. I have been living abroad for 30 years now and opted to stay around the area where I grew up in & went to school. I stayed there from Jan 8 to Jan 12 & after already checking out, literally hopping in to our car when I was stopped because they said a towel was missing from one of the rooms I have stayed in. I don’t really want to think about this again but it was the most horrible experience I’ve had! The front desk asked me to pay 900pesos!!! First of all, I did not take any of your towels, they looked old and not clean & what would I do with those - I left a lot of stuff to my family because of my excess baggages! I have tipped workers around and to be treated like this was bad! Why was I asked after checking out when you said the towel was lost a day or so before I checked out. Obviously, it was a mistake on your part! It was a very disappointing stay. I deeply regret staying & checking in for 4 days in my rare vacation to the Philippines. Owner, Manager, please brief your staff, from concierge to front desk to housekeeping- I thought & spoke highly of your place and it was ruined just because of a towel! Come on now, I give hundreds of towels away when I go on vacation to our homeland. You guys ruined my stay, my family’s stay. What a horrible, horrible unimaginable experience!

Very wonderful classic place. The staff are accommodating. Amenities are a little bit old but the hot and cold shower did well. It seems to be a bit older hotel. The ambience and architecture was great, not to mention the interior design of the bar and function was awesome. The price was 3300 but i was able to pay for 2200 pesos booked online, but had no free breakfast. The proximity is good. A mcdonalds, starbucks, seattles best cafe, kenny rogers, and 7,11 convenience shop were. Just a few steps away. Just two floors and i didnt see an elevator. The tv was quite small though but definitely Worth the money.

I stayed here when I visited the Philippines for 5 days, breakfast was good, room was so-so, I asked to change my room because of some black mold in the bathroom, the front desk was a little extra and wanted to charge me 5,000 pesos additional for hiring a private makeup artist to go to our room to prep us for an event. they were respectful but it just felt a little awkward with them because they have issues when you have visitors. Will definitely not book here ever. I preferred my stay at Hotel Jen in their executive suite. It was way worth it. I almost upgraded my room just to get a better bathroom but the pricing was just ridiculous. Thank you though to hotels.com for giving me a better pricing (exclusive pricing for members) because I wouldnt want to spend more with them after the weird treatment I received from them.

The TV was tiny and it did not have a USB port when we wanted to watch the movies we brought. They did not offer senior citizens discount even if my parents were both seniors (I only found out later that we were entitled to it after we have paid in full). The lobby was VERY VERY sombre - dim lights the entire day, it felt like it was night time all the time. The walls were thin so we could hear people pass by outside. They were slow to make up the room. The tiles and some of the walls were chipped off. It was a very outdated hotel, in need of refurbishment. Too bad that the location is very good and accessible but the hotel itself was a disappointment.
