My stay was fantastic - service was real good. Any concerns were immediately looked after. Only minor issues were the wifi was tough to connect to at times and although the breakfast was good the food was cold.

Located in the progressive and growing city of Butuan.The staff are very courteous and the rooms have a large floor space and comes with room amenities that fit the a business traveler or simply staycation for the local residents.It is convenient for family gatherings or conferences. Wifi is strong.There is very good security protocols in place and parking is available.They also have very competitive and affordable room rates.

The place is so nice. There function hall is very wide and fully air conditioned.

Grand and chic and a palace helpful hotel staff, food are delicious, function rooms are well equipped and comfortable. A little bit pricey if you are budget conscious. Family rooms are available. Swimming pool is great during night time for relaxing and pool side parties. Overall experience is great

All is well but there are better opportunities to be honest. I don’t know where all the reviews come from. The rooms are big and all the people are very kind and friendly. The breakfast was not really big. I mean at that day there wasn’t so many guest I guess.In my opinion there are some other pretty good hotels.

The hotel I booked was a basic twin bed room, priced accordingly, even though it had no windows, there was still some noise heard from outside traffic in the morning. I think the noise came through a small access door below the a/c unit. The other thing that felt awkward was the security at the lobby..They had armed guards with metal detector just like the airports...Yes its ”Better safe than sorry”, maybe its good to have all tgat security but for a hotel,,,it does sends out possibly the message that the area is very unsafe. I really didn’t feel unsafe in the area but walking (7-10min) to to main avenue might might be scary to dome guests. They do provide a good SUV shuttle for the airport that I used, with a professional driver. Decent breakfast was included. Dinner buffet on Friday was typical Filipino food, not many choices, but not expensive and it tasted good. They have a nice swimming pool. Staffs were cordial and friendly. Hotel was cleaned and the room bed was comfortable to sleep. I would recommend the hotel to others, but management really need to explain why all that security is needed..If there is a good reason for the protection of their guests,,,I would accept that,,but please do respond to me on that. Its one of the newer hotels within butuan city.It was well-maintained and clean.

The staff were very professional, friendly, respectful and kind, that made my stay a lot better because of them. I dont like how the set up of the shower, the water is not warm its more on the cold side.Even though the room look so clean but there were many little red ants and big black ants, it didnt make sense. The food was okay, they give 3 choices but the third one is not available so i end up eating the same breakfast tell the last day of my stayed. Thank you Staff!!!

My comments were good internet connection, the tiles on the floor were very glamorous I feel like Im A Star! but had no heater, carpets smells something.... But All in all contented.

Clean place, friendly staff and guards. I was thankful I was on 3rd floor because regularly scheduled local bands on the first floor keep those residents awake. Fresh fruits and related dishes (juices and shakes). Be prepared for very great deals with food. More than I could eat. Soups, rice and other dishes delivered to to your room will feed 3-4. Three conference rooms, swimming pool and mechanical-electrical massage chairs.

I will give 3 stars to them, because I cant connect their wifi, and shower have no hot water. They are friendly, and the breakfast is very delicious. But they transfer me to a different room each day, was there 3 nights and all in a different room.

The place is good. But unlike other hotels where you can leave the key or keycard at the front desk, you must never leave the key card at the front desk here. Always bring the key card. Lost key card will be charged PHP 500.00. Also, the last time I checked, they will no longer allow you to leave your helmet at the guard nor allow you to carry it inside.

Amazing place to stay! The food is great, the place is very accommodating.

It was so disappointing and scary to wake up because there was a blackout in the whole city and it took maybe an hour before their generator worked. I was so worried for my 1 year-old daughter because she has asthma. And when I called the front desk, I found it impolite that the lady I was talking to was getting the answers from somebody else.

Could be better in terms of cleanliness and orderliness of the entire place. The functuon room area lacks the elegance of a hotel banquet service youd expect in a grand hotel. F&B service may be improved by ensuring a more classy appearance of the coffee service table outside the room. One hour before rhe aession, place was in a mess, smell of dirt all around and service staff have no standards. Whiteboard was heavily stained wirh permanent markers. Whwn i asked staff to clean the board, he said nothing could be done as stains can no longer be removed. No offer to replace so i asked if that waa the best they had. After awhile staff returned with another whifeboard saying it haa lesser stains than what i had. The narrow hallway was cramped wirh open office spaces right in front of the function room. With staff queuing for lunch, its hard to walk the hallway going to restroom. I wish for Service Excellence especially if the structure is great.

For a few years old hotel, this place has deteriorated badly specially with the malodour department. A very pungent smell welcomes you once you entered the door

The night before our check out I reminded them that we are about to leave because of our 6am flight the next morning I requested them to prepare our breakfast ahead of time and they said it was fine. But the next morning, food is not ready.

Nice and big rooms, smells good, clean sheets! Breakfast was okay, nothing fancy. Has a pool but no gym.

Very comfortable and great facilities. I only had two small issues and they were having to get my room card reprogrammed after on day as it stopped giving access to the lift and my room and the internet wifi codes kept failing. Apart from that we really enjoyed our stay.

Not a lot of nice hotels to choose from in this area. This is probably one of the nicer hotels. Staff is very friendly, the lobby and rooms are clean and fairly comfortable (had A/C problems but they got resolved) but breakfast buffet is terrible. 4 dishes served in warmers turned off so all food is cold. Very limited food choice but at least they had brewed coffee.

Expensive but worth it..

First thing I would say, its a disappointment. I went to check in and found out i was 2 days late. I know Im wrong but they didnt give me even a one day stay credit. It was a waste of money. Plus, buffet is so expensive. Theres nothing spectacular with their foods. Although, the room where we stayed was clean and nice but the pool is not that nice. I regret it. I would never recommended to anybody.

Many meeting rooms, pool and kiddy pool, massage room, musical entertainment Friday - Sunday nights, free buffet breakfast, free fruits and desserts, fresh smoothies and fruit juices upon request, ordering from the menu (large portions). This place is a common destination for government dignitaries and officials. Ive met PNP generals, military generals, and local government officials. Many weddings occur here. Rooms have large flat screens, free Wi-Fi, private showers (bathtubs upon request), slippers, robes, and safes with mini fridges.

I visit Butuan every year and usually stay at a different hotel each time.Grand Palace is one of the best hotels in the city. If you are not a regular traveler to the Philippines, there are a few gotchas you should know about.Air conditioning is NOT guaranteed.Hot Water in your shower is NOT guaranteed (many hotels that claim to provide hot water, in fact, do NOT !)Mini Fridges, are not common in hotel rooms.Grand Palace does provide reliable hot water, air conditioning, and a mini fridge for MOST of its rooms. It also has a nice pool, a friendly staff, and excellent room rates.On the complaint side, I had two complaints. First, their buffet restaurant is terrible ! The food is cold (room temp) and of low quality.My second complaint is the reason I cut my stay short and had to find another hotel, internet access/wifi was unreliable, frequently going down and slow when it was up.

Very nice hotel. Room was spacious. However, the internet service left alot to be desired. The connection was constantly dropping on both phone and computer...

According to our booking agent the Grand Palace was a 4 star, which its not. It tries to be but unfortunately barely cuts it at 3 stars. Breakfast wasnt great, the rooms are clean but lack that final touch. I lost my key card and they charged me 500p (£8) to get a new one. Grrrrr That was the last straw and therefore wouldnt recommend.WiFi was really bad so kept going back to using data from a local SIM I bought at the airport.Next time if probably look at the newly built Oasis Hotel. Oh, and the pool is open to the public, not just hotel guests.

Best place in town for business

Our stay was two adults and one 9 year old kid in one room and the booking confirmation from Hotels.com shows breakfast is included. When checking in, the reception told me we are having extra bed and will prepare it soon and i told her yes thanks. But when checking out, they charged me extra bed fee. I told i was not told about that at all and its prepared by the hotel without my asking then she asked the last night staff and removed the bill for bed. Instead she suddenly ask me to pay for the extra breakfast fee even their bill doesnt show it at all as if its a kind of revenge. I told her to check the confirmation from Hotels.com telling breakfast is included for 3 of us. She just said just ok theyd cut off the breakfast and bed fee with no apologize at all. Its a kind of cheating and the managing operation is terrible, far from the normal hotel management.

Rooms are well sanitized, staffs are patient and friendly, but the shower rooms and bathrooms beside the swimming pool needs development. Pool needs to be cleaned often. My major concern when I go to hotel is cleanliness. So far the bathrooms beside pool are dirty and the showers have no locks. Mens comfort room and shower should be isolated. Tiles on floor beside dining tables along the pool should also be removed coz I was almost sliding. The canal beside outdoor dining tables should be covered. It was not really clean. There were many flies when we relished the foods outdoor. The foods taste good except the taste of kinilaw because I dont like a sweetened kinilaw. Overall I enjoyed my stay there because they are not strict. I wnjoyed the plentiful foods unlimited every Fri until Sunday. I love the deep swimming pool. I wish that Grand Palace will add the deeper swimming pool soon or another separated pool that is deeper than the pool for adults now. I wish they also change the exterior design of the store beside the pool to look classy because it looks an ordinary pool. The amenities for me is perfect except sanitation in pool area. Wifi is not great. Its nice but not great as grand place.

Hotel and food is good and also the securiry, but some meas up with the room about beddings and pillow. instead of changing it they change and cost us. everyday need of change of towels and matreses. but the rest of service is so good
