I live in Manistee and I make the trip to the Arcadia Marsh sometimes twice a week. Absolutely love the fishing as well as the nature all around.
Beautiful!!Note: Make sure you use the facilities in Onekama. Not a whole lot of choices right now with covid. I also didnt see a gas station. Please do bring your camera. I saw raven swan and bever.I wore a mask but others did not. I still felt relatively comfortable with being outside and passing by others on the walkway. No one crowded together or stayed in one spot and there werent many people out there anyway. That and there are other walkouts off the main dock that you can walk out onto if someone is coming let them go by and then continue on. This wasnt always the case for me but it was helpful at times. It got kind of windy while I was out there so if the temperatures a bit on the chilly side you may need a jacket. Its probably a good idea not to get caught out there after the sun goes down. Some areas have railings where others do not. Id hate for anyone to fall in the water because they couldnt see where they were going. I got in with just enough time to drive through town to the beach area and watch the sun drop out from site.We plan on bringing my mother in law whos in her 80s out to see it next summer. No way she can walk that far but we figure with a wheelchair and an umbrella to protect her from the sun if needed shes gonna have a great time.
Beautiful. Many birds. Easy walk. Wheelchair access...
Great! Excellent birding. Saw a few trumpeter swans amidst the abundant mute swans. Also saw 4 great egrets and an American bittern; blue-winged teal, too. It will be a great place to watch the spring waterfowl migration in particular. If youre not into birds there are interesting wetland plants. If youre not into that, its a very nice walk with nice views.
Great walking boardwalk 1.50 miles round trip. easy walking level ground.allot to see in the preserve its self. nature at its finest
We love walking on the boardwalk. The swans are beautiful. There are many other birds. Restful and good exercise.
Wonderful walk out over the marsh. Love seeing the birds. 6 year old thought it was a great hike as well.
This was a great low impact walk. Should be accessable to everyone because the entire thing is a boardwalk. It was very beautiful, hopefully the water levels go back down and it becomes a marsh again.
Beautiful boardwalk with awesome observation areas. Vast variety of ducks, geese, swans, turtles and other aquatic and land critters to watch and enjoy.
Beautiful view with lots of birds to see. Only downside was the people. It was busy due to the fall colors.
Beautiful preserve. Easy access and well-maintained. Lots of wildlife.
It is a really nice walk. There is so much wild life, my kids said it was like going to the zoo!
Very nice boardwalk across the wetlands. Interesting information signage along the walk.
This is a really awesome spot for bird watching. It is absolutely beautiful!
This is such a gift to walk so closely with nature. We delight in the variety of birds, the number of swans, the breeze rustling, and the marsh welcoming us back.
Absolutely beautiful! Loved the walk and seeing all the swans. Note this is not dog friendly.
Had great views and lots of bird life. Only downside was it was crowded (we went during fall colors)
I loved it a lot I wasnt able to do the whole thing because of time but it was great seeing all the different birds and flowers
Beautiful boardwalk through the marsh. Lots of birds and wildlife. Cannot walk the entire distance of the boardwalk until July 15th as the last portion is blocked off due to wildlife habitat nesting.
What a neat beautiful spot. Great place to stop and take a little hike
Awesome boardwalk with water all around. Very flooded out area last couple years..
Beautiful place. Boardwalk makes it easy to see a lot of the marsh. Lots of waterfowl.
Beautiful placeWe will be back to spend more time
Great place. Beautiful place. Lots to see
Mother Nature was at her best the day I visited. The boardwalk is great for someone who cant navigate steep inclines for long distances, nice benches to sit in the sun along the way. Peaceful...
Always a pleasure to walk the boardwalk surrounded by natural beauty. Its a local treasure!
Such an amazing place to take your family for a nature walk. My mother and son have been taking weekly fishing trips here as you can fish from the walkways. Saw evidence of bears, all types of birds and fish. Wonderful new attraction.
It was a nice place to walk and relax. Many swans and other birds there was also quite a bit of frogs
Very interesting place, and a nice 1.5 mile walk.
Amazing boardwalk and opportunity to see and experience nature.
Beautiful ~3 mile hike round trip. A wide variety of flora and fauna to observe. We even saw a couple of muskrats! Definitely recommend a visit.
Lots of people. Different vegetation than last year because of the higher water level
Great boardwalk. Amazing swans and other wildlife.
An easy walk with an incredible view!
The boardwalk through the marsh is fantastic! Our family really enjoyed the walk. There is parking at either end. Be aware that it is an out and back walk, not a loop. If backtracking annoys you plan to park another car at the other end. That being said we saw things on the way back that wed missed on the way out so Im glad we walked it both ways (0.75 miles each way if I recall correctly).
Fantastic place to walk and view water life.
Very educational place to go and see nature
Beautiful, even in a cold rain
A beautiful trail right through the marsh, and 1.5 miles round trip. It is easily wheelchair accessible. 1.5 mules round trip. Bring your camera and binoculars.
Great place to bird watch. New walk way is very cool. Little oasis in downtown arcadia. I will be curious what it looks like when the water is down in Lake Michigan
Gorgeous place that I will have to revisit
Peaceful, bird wonderland. Lots of wildflowers. Glad its being protected, good job, Gtrlc. Seek out their other public properties or better yet, donate some $! ;)
Lovely very accessible walk.
Great walk, lots of wildlife, nice breeze! Easy walking!
Really cool, full walk opens in a couple of weeks
Such a cool nature experience, highly recommended.
Beautiful. Wild flowers, frogs, turtles, geese, birds
The view is awsome, I am not that much of a nature person but it was pretty spectacular. I was also fishing and had caught so good perch and rock bass. Im so happy this is here!
Beautiful, peaceful, different from most hikes because it crosses water all the way. Universal access is a great +.
Best money ever spent. Wwll worth the stop and walk. We went during labor day week and there were monarch butterflys everywhere, hundreds!!!
Seriously one of the loveliest nature areas weve ever been to, its enjoyable for all skill levels.
