These tours are really something else. We didnt know what to expect and were positively surprised by the relaxed and especially very entertaining atmosphere on the boat.Michael told us a thing or two about Amsterdam, but did not flood us with boring facts and figures. This really made the tour much more enjoyable compared to classic sightseeing tours. If we would recommend a tour of Amsterdam, it would definitely be this one. We werent in Amsterdam for long, but this is absolutely a must do while youre in town. The price for this tour was very affordable and worth every cent. Instead of being crammed on a boat with 60 other people youre in a boat with no more than 10. The tour guide shares everything from a personal perspective and you are free to ask all sorts of questions to learn more about the city. It was pretty chilly and they even had blankets for us to use. Best of all, you can bring your own drinks and food aboard. Cant recommend this enough.

Wir hatten die Tour um 17:00 Uhr mit Megan gebucht. Es ist keine “Touristische” Tour wie in den großen Booten, eher auf die Personen im Boot abgestimmt, was wirklich toll war auch weil wir nur zu zweit waren (denke wegen Corona).Es war eine tolle Tour mit schönen Spots zum fotografieren und lustige Geschichten. Empfehlenswert!!!

I cannot recommend this boat tour enough! Absolutely the best, most entertaining city tour of any kind that weve been on in Europe. If youre looking for a stoic, serious, purely historical or basic highlights sightseeing tour of Amsterdam on a boat full of tourists listening to audioguides, this is not the boat for you. BUT, if youre looking for a massively entertaining hour and a half where you will laugh out loud, while seeing and hearing about not just the major spots, but all the unknown nooks and crannies throughout the city, from a personal guide in a comfortable private boat that will provide blankets, beers (they even have their own micro-brew partner), champagne or allow you to bring any form of your own refreshments or recreation with you, then give these guys a call. Highly informative and hysterically irreverent and never boring, this was a ton of fun for our whole family and the highlight of our trip to Amsterdam. Thank you Neil for providing an absolute blast of an afternoon, youre the best captain on the canals!

Super bra båt tur med trevlig kapten. Man får ha med sig egen dricka (även alkohol) och mat! Turen tog ca 90 minuter och båten rymmer mindre sällskap. Då båten bara tar emot mindre grupper gjorde det båt turen mycket roligare och man har möjlighet att fråga kapten frågor om Amsterdam. Detta är ett måste om man är i Amsterdam!

Theyre a must do in Amsterdam. Forget the classic canal tours all looking in the same direction, listening a boringnold farting guide. They are young smart and they really know their city. The tour is a mix of historic information about the city and unusual informations about its history and the people who lives there. We took the 8.30 pm tour. It was partly cloud, but suddenly it starts to rain (really rain). The captain has been lightning fast to provide us with heavy ponchos to stay dry. Our group was really heterogeneous: two guys from Australia, a couple from Germany, two sisters from USA and me and my family from Italy. The rain, the atmosphere and the great captain create a really nice group of people enjoying the city from a completely different point of view. Use their website to get all the info about the tours and booking. The price is absolutely right for the value. Strongly reccomended. BYO food/drink/smoke. If you dont like the last one or you have enough of it, ask for a seat further towards.

Axel is the coolest guide ever! He knows so many cool hidden spots in Amsterdam. For sure go grab a beer (or many) with him after the tour, that’s when the real fun starts!

Can 100% recommend a tour with these cool guys! My husband and I shared a boat with one other couple and so had a super easy going ride on which our guide took us to his favourite parts of Amsterdam and answered all our questions about the city and it’s history on the way. If you’re looking for the much better alternative to jam-packed canal tours look no further than this!

I would definitely recommend Those Dam Boat Guys. I went for a private boat tour last Sunday with my girlfriend and my parents. It was wonderful. Our captain Julian was awesome: I loved his humor and how friendly he was. He was also able to tell us fun and interesting facts about Amsterdams history and showed us some cool hidden gems we didnt know about yet even though weve been Iiving here for 7 years.

If you are a fun person youll love this tour.

Excellent canal tour, couldnt recommend more highly. A lot of these tours are very dry, scripted and while theyre often very interesting, theres not much life about them. Dam Boat guys was very different. Our guide was awesome and managed the delicate balance between interesting and funny, perfectly. Do it, its worth every cent.

Loved our boat trip. Julien was friendly, laid back and very knowledgeable. That’s him photo bombing our picture. He showed us spots off the beaten path that we went back to the next day and swam in the canals...

Perfect Amsterdam experience with a nice guide and small groups (8 people in average). In my opinion theyre much better and more unique than those big anonymous agencies with their huge boats

Really chill and relaxing way to see the city! This isn’t a scripted tour which I really enjoyed. Everyone on the boat just asked questions when they had them and our guide would answer and share stories about the city. I also liked that there were only around 10 people on the boat vs the big tourist boats we saw go by.

After years of seeing their boats zipping along the canal, we treated ourselves and some guests to a bespoke 90-minute ride around Prinseneiland (but you can call your own shot where youd like to go). Our English-speaking guide was a beast on trivia and neighborhood facts, and the atmosphere on the boat was fun as hell. Whatever we wanted to bring aboard, being it edible, drinkable, or smokeable, was in play. I cant recommend this enough.

Eine etwas andere Bootstour. Sehr persönlich und locker.Der Guide gab uns einige interessante Insidertipps. Konnten auf das Boot alles an Essen und Trinken mitnehmen was wir wollten. Falls man zu fertig ist muss man auch nicht am Gespräch teilnehmen und kann einfach die Tour genießen. Empfehl ich jedem der die großen Touristenbooten vermeiden will.

This is the best way to learn about Amsterdam. Its definitely a laid back tour - youre just hanging out with the guide and the few other folks on the boat. Bring snacks, etc. Also check out their fantastic podcast, History of the Netherlands.

Wir waren mit dem Eigentümer Neil unterwegs. Aufgrund der Corona Regeln waren wir nur zu viert als Familie auf dem Boot. Neil war super offen und freundlich, hat von sich aus erzählt und jede Frage beantwortet. Wir haben ihn die Route wählen lassen aber wir hätten auch selbst eine Strecke vorgeben können. Vorher haben wir uns am Büro von TDBG noch mit selbst gebrautem Bier eingedeckt und am Laden nebendran mit Sandwiches. Eine individuelle, persönliche Tour, die jeder wählen sollte, der keine Lust auf Touri-Glasboot-Lautsprecher hat. Ein tolles Erlebnis!
