Dumaan lang ako. Di ako mahilig sa kape at wala akong pera. 5 stars
Food is good and the service is nice too. Fair price. Can be really busy on the weekends. Better make reservations before you go.早午餐好ㄘ,飲料冰淇淋也很出色,假日很客滿,不想等可以先預約,不然等待時附近high street 也可以走走。
Back then, Tobeys and Arabica % are the only option for coffee in BGC area if youre an avid coffee drinker or youre searching for a 3rd wave coffee shop. Elephant grounds is from Thailand and has the best overall long black in BGC in my personal opinion. Just be wary that this place is always almost full. They also serve savory dishes if you miss Hey Handsome. One of my favorite coffee partners is the Toasted rice flavored Ice cream. Its like eating kakanin but in an ice cream form, truly an experience to try. Taste like a dessert from the rural province of the Philippines. Also, a work friendly place as almost all the seats have charging plugs. I wish they extend the place.
A new 3rd wave coffee shop in the metro, if youre one fan of coffee and dont settle for just good cup of coffee but focuses on the beans distinct flavor, then Elephant Grounds would be the best shop for you. They also offer a wide range of Asian Fusion Cuisine and for the sweet tooths out there, they have waffles and churned ice creams!
Great interiors and music. The food is well suited for the cafe crowd. Something light but delicious. Although it is described as a coffee place, the food is obviously the centerstage and not the coffee. One gets the overall impresssion that people come here to eat. So going here just for a cup of coffee doesnt quite cut it. The staff kept asking if we wanted coffee after our meal so there you go. Best to move along elsewhere for that cup of Joe. But hey, the food is really good so you might want to check this HK based coffee shop now here at BGC.
I’ve been going to Elephant Grounds since they opened in BGC and I’ve always enjoyed EG in HK, and I’ve got to say that I come back for only the food (love the burger, toasts, duck krapow, the lattes, ice cream).I want to preface this bad review with the fact that I come back for the menu. I really enjoy the food, the vibe, and the community. I think they have a great set of food and drink offered and when I don’t experience bad service and I’m with a friend, the food is even better.Ok so bad review starts here:The service is truly bad to mediocre at best. I’ve been bothered by some of the things I’ve seen here like management straight up getting mad at staff where we can see and hear, and this guy who I always see (an older man w a hat who is like always hovering) who gets mad and gives super special treatment to foreigners. I want to call this behaviour out because it’s not right, and I’ve seen it happen a couple of times (there’s a line and they prioritize foreigners even if there are people right there waiting!!!) we’re not here for this colonial mentality. Also, the serviceeee let’s get to the service. The staff are generally nice, but they’ve forgotten or gotten my order confused multiple times. Also, takes so long to get the bill?? Or my order?? I once ordered a Buddha bowl.... it took 45 mins. You bet they forgot about my order and they denied it. It was cold. The Buddha bowl was cold, but I couldn’t say anything because I was in a meeting. I didn’t finish it. On top of that, it took like another 30 minutes to wait for the bill........ Sharing this anecdote because it’s the most recent (dec 23) of my bad service experiences at EG. Another bad one that stands out a couple of months ago was that they charged me for a drink that I didn’t even receive, so I told them to remove it from the bill. I ordered this before I even made a choice for my main. Right there, while I was arguing for it to be removed, the drink finally arrived like??? I got that over an hour ago??? And I still paid for it???However, sometimes they do a decent job in admitting wrong doing. On a different day, they ruined my order my drink order so badly that they comp’d the drink, so all was forgiven. So in the new year, I hope you guys can improve your service. Particularly the guy that prioritises foreigners, gives them BETTER SERVICE and gets mad at his staff in public (not cool, old hat guy). I can generally tolerate the bad service for myself (hey I keep coming back!), but don’t treat your customers and staff like anything lower than human or equal to each other.
Consistently good coffee. The tapas and the prawn paste chicken brunch bowls are also delish!
Good food and nice design - ideal place to spend lazy afternoon after shopping in BGC
Been curious for weeks about this HK-based coffee shop. But then, this Manila branch is not really about coffee but it’s food. The coffee is good. Manila’s teeming now with great coffee alternatives to the Mickey Ds of coffee, aka Starbucks. It’s not the star for most people who come here. It’s the food. And, insta-worthy ambiance.Ordered one of their best sellers, Bacon-steak and Eggs Waffle. Good for two, for most people. I polished it off after breaking my 22-hour fast.Waffle was crisp on the outside and right chewiness on the inside. The whipped honey butter was the perfect complement. Didn’t care for the maple syrup. It tasted like maple-flavored syrup instead of an authentic one. Plus, I personally felt it was going overboard adding it since the butter already had honey.Bacon steak had the perfect ratio of fatty parts to the lean, meaty parts. Eggs were cooked right. Sautéed mushrooms were a good accessory. The Black Tie iced coffee was a double shot of espresso with whipping cream. It was coffee done right but unmemorable.Price is expensive if this was located in a different area but just right for where it is now.Wait is long for everything, be warned. From seating, serving your order, to getting the bill. It is a popular place. You cannot go here if you don’t like waiting or want a quick meal/ coffee. I did not mind, too much, as I was waiting for that 22-hour fast to end.Not a good place to have a quiet chat. The place gets very noisy. The staff was amicable. Will I be back? If I am in the area and have time to kill.
Love their coffee selection and snacks like nori fries!
Attentive service people. Good food and for me best coffee. A bit expensive.
Great place!! Coffee is delicious. A little on the pricey side but its a great experience. Even their rice bowls are good. They also have tea-based drinks. Their chai latte is good
The rocky road ice cream cookie costs P165 but the ice cream tastes like ordinary store bought ice cream...it was probably the almond pieces and the two pieces of short bread cookies that made up the cost.Lesson learned : Youre better off buying a magnum bar, blue bunny or a pint of arces ice cream.
They sanitize tables and chairs every after use, staff are also friendly. EG Latte ice cream is a must try!
Best coffee in BGC, bar none. Their bulletproof is very well priced too. Unfortunately its pretty full all day long so not the best place to hang out or work unless youre ok to sit outside.
Almost always full with people but surprisingly a really cool place to chat with friends. We keep coming back for the ice cream, too!
Great coffee and food, plus friendly service!
Tried Salmon Eggs Benedict and the Egg Salad sandwich which were both excellent. Yuzu drink and Matcha Latte were very good too. Will come back to try other items.
Food and coffee are great but slightly overpriced
Very very very nice place. Very nice staff. Nice clientele too. Very good coffee. Great salted caramel cake. Was very pleasantly surprised cause I dont even like salted caramel cake that much. But other food was mmmm ok lang at best. And expensive. Thick bacon was too sweet, rocky road ice cream Sandwich was not good, maybe cause of the butter cookies, fries were not satisfying but the cheese sandwich was good daw. Still, Im sure Ill be back. I still like the place hehe
Hip & trendy place with great coffee & food. Young people coming for coffee with their laptops are a constant scene at this cafe. I ordered very thin fries & avocado toast. It was delicious! Not in photo is the crispy chicken in prawn paste (tasted like bagoong). I enjoyed the dish as well but did not mix much of the prawn paste coz it was too salty for my taste. Service was also good, with friendly & attentive staff. Dishes (for one) are priced bet P350 & P450.
One of.my orders.took.forever to be served. After all.others were eaten, dessert and coffee done, after several.follow.ups and was even told that the kitchen was clogged with orders, only then was I told that order wasnt placed. After half.an hour.server came back and served me the order saying he wanted to make it up to me. I think he overheard that we knew the owners... lmao!
The food is all right, but rather pricey. Also, when its at full seating capacity, it CAN get unsettlingly noisy and not at all conducive to good dining.
Overrated and hyped. It was noisy and ive had better cold brew elsewhere. The tapa donburi was not available and the other menu items were a bit contrived. The ice cream was a bit pricey but i liked what I ordered and the waitstaff were very nice.
