One of the most underrated women in history, regarded only as one of the women assigned to sew the Philippine flag, this place offers amazing revelations about this wonderful individual---intelligent, talented and patriotic, and A SCHOLASTICAN. If you want to prove how women can actually be more than the stereotype, this museum is the place to see in Taal, Batangas.

最初にフィリピンの国旗を縫った女性の家。この辺りは小さいけどフィリピンの近代史を知る上で貴重な博物館が沢山あります。歴史好きなら楽しい場所です。Nakaaral ako ng kasaysayan ng Pilipinas dito

Free entrance. This museum was donated by the descendants of Marcela Marino Agoncillo to the government. The place is well maintained and the guard/tour guide are friendly and accommodating. Found it really amusing that the security guard is also the tour guide.

We received a warm welcome from the security guard who turned on the air conditioning and all the lights even though only my mom and I were initially the guests and its near closing time, too. We also learned a lot from him as he also served as our guide. I love the home of Lola Celay, it perfectly symbolizes her simplicity and humility above her skill and creativity. She and her husband Don Felipes contribution to the Philippine Independence is not one of bloodshed and warfare but it is an EQUALLY GREAT sacrifice that many of us today can relate to better than the warriors and politicians. They were simple folk who loved their Motherland and gave up the pleasures, luxury and comfort of being wealthy to reach out to fellow Filipinos and defended the rights of the downtrodden and oppressed. Notwithstanding its majestic wonders of nature, Taal is also made memorable and heartwarming by its history and the Taaleños who were part of them that you will fall in love with the town more and more with every visit.#MabuhaykaLolaCelay#MabuhaykaDonFelipe
