They serve ok seafood. Not the best fter tasting serveral good ones over the last few weeks. The staffs are too overwhelm to serve if you are seated at the back of the restaurant. Carpark is just right beside the restaurant. They have 2 bar counters. S the food is fresh but the taste is not as expected. There is a queue during peak hours.
Very conveniently located on El Camino near Lawrence Expressway. Value is found in their Happy Hour at the bar and Early Catch in the main dining hall. They do oysters very well. Here, the oysters come with their liquor, which I appreciate greatly. It takes great skill to shuck oysters cleanly and not lose the liquor! They also serve freshly-grated horseradish with the oysters, which is a nice touch (jarred horseradish is too hot and I never cared for them). Another favorite on the HH menu is the Ono sliders with a side of Old Bay seasoned fries. The fish in the sliders is fresh, the combo of wasabi mayo, coleslaw, and pickled ginger provide wonderful texture and flavor. The calamari is serviceable. HH varies by the day, but is available everyday, including weekends! If you come early enough 4-6pm Mon-Thurs, check out the Early Catch menu; it is simply an unbeatable value.
Coming back to this place....no thanks. We had the halibut (pan seared, no seasoning), the fish marinara fettuccine (the bread was good, but the actual dish was missing flavor) and as an appetizer, we got the crab cakes (they were okay, not memorable, just average). My point here is that we felt that we were robbed after paying over $100 for dinner.
The place has a fishy smell when you first get into the door. Our server brought us dirty bowls twice. The grilled skewer was ok but had funny rice with noodles in it. The scallops was over cooked on side and slimy on the other. The cioppino had a fishy lobster that was rubbery. The tomato broth has a strong wine taste that was not balanced. I do not recommend this place.
Went on a Tuesday & the restaurant was ~70% full - pretty busy for early in the week. Didnt make a reservation & was seated within 5 mins.Had oysters & the crab cioppino - both were fresh & really enjoyable! Service was also very friendly & fast enough. Menu is 90% seafood (the place *is* called the fish market), but in case youre with someone who doesnt like seafood, there are also a couple chicken & veg options.Ambience is super chill, with a separate room with a bar.Bill came out to $44 for the 2 dishes. Looking forward to trying their sashimi next time!
The Fish Market in Santa Clara seems like its been around for ever. The wait staff was friendly and attentive.Started off with the Manhattan Clam Chowder (the red chowder) and a IPA.The Fish Tacos with Crispy ono, chipotle ranch dressing, salsa fresca, fresh lime, and served with ranchero-style black beans were amazing. Also, love, the warm sourdough bread with butter!Weve been there many times, and always enjoyed the meal.Parking can be a challenge and I usually done come here on a weekend.
I picked up two Canadian Cod fish and chips because people on reddit recommended it. However I thought it was pretty mediocre overall. The fish was good but the breading was greasy, you know how it even looks dark in some areas heavy with oil? The coleslaw and fries were below average.I would give it 3 stars but the second class service rubbed me the wrong way. I will not be coming back.
Delicious as usual. Took home some chowder & crab. Family loved it. Thanks Fish Market.
Highly recommend. Very fresh fish, super cozy atmosphere, great service.Fish - I ordered the blackened mahi-mahi (pictured), which was super tender - the best Ive had. Previous I tried the John Dory, which was ok but less tender and a little bland. But some people love that one. My friends said that the swordfish was a little dry and less tender.Sashimi - Ahi was average quality, but the other one (light colored) Japanese fish (cant think of the name) was SUPER GOOD. It was fresh like the Tokyo Fish Market fish, if you ever had a chance to try.Sides - Au gratin potatoes (layered with cheese) were super tasty. Very creamy and flavorful but light texture and not overwhelmingly fatty.Clam Chowder - Very creamy and flavorful. I recommend the bowl, which is more than twice the quantity of the cup.Bread/Butter - Super good. Not sure if they give refills, didnt ask but maybe should.Interior is a lot of wood work so very cozy feeling.Entrees are $15 to $25 and slightly lighter on the quantity so a hungry person needs to order chowder or appetizers to be satisfied. Would budget roughly $30/person or more if drinking. Also this is a great place to take friends and family or to have an informal business lunch or dinner. One other thing, the parking lot is not too big and the Citi Bank lot is spacious and tempting but apparently they dont like to share it with the restaurant customers. (FYI)
First time to visit the place. Nice atmosphere. Few customers due to the virus.
Great food. Very nice waitress. The cioppino was amazing.
Really love this restaurant. Ive Ben traveling to the valley for almost twenty years and always make it a point to come here when I am in town.
Delicious food And clam shouter

Are u kidding me? Its the freakin Fish Market! Its AWESOME!!
My favorite place for seafood. super place to meet and chat with coworkers.
Always fresh fish in a casual environment.
So wonderful to get inside and enjoy a great meal.
All the food is very good and the service is excellent. I have been to this place many times.
A long-standing tradition in Si valley, with a large fish menu, many kinds of raw oysters, etc. Theres usually a wait, even for 2 people.
Good food and decent beer selection as well.
We had the Oysters Rockefeller, cheesy crab bread for starters! Very good. I had linguini with shrimp. Ive never had a bad meal here. The prices are also very reasonable.
