The playground is very small here and there are two separate sides to the park that make no sense they should connect these sides as one park or make a hill slide get creative.

This park is nice for a short while as there is no bathroom, and so many people walk their dogs here (a kids park) and let them pee and poop where the kids lay and play

I liked it.shady, breezy, decent jungle gym and plenty of space and peace. But no bathroom, which I guess I understand-dont want the hobos-but still kind of a big inconvenience...oh, and be prepared to have to wash your car tho after parking under the trees with lots of droppings...

I have been in contact with Councilman Buscainos office since December regarding Alma Park in San Pedro and the graffiti, trash, drug use, drinking and general disrepair within the park.I have contacted them numerous times, and they seem to have begun to ignore me as I got no response from my last correspondence 2 weeks ago.One would assume that the busy schedule of the councilman and general lack of funds in the city was what was preventing the work on Alma Park from proceeding. However, imagine my surprise and dismay when I read about the improvements to Leland Park announced in The Daily Breeze yesterday. While I am certainly happy for those that live there, and wish all the parks in San Pedro and Los Angeles could get the same treatment, I was saddened to read that $1 million could be found to save that park and we cannot seem to afford an additional trash can for Alma Park.I received promises last October for new equipment and repair to the existing lights during correspondence with the councilmans office, and we are still waiting for these to happen. I have taken it upon myself to paint over the graffiti as it never gets done by the city. As mentioned in your article the mow, blow and go happens regularly but that does not include trash pick-up as it is a different department. Our nicely mown grass is difficult to enjoy with broken glass, beer cans, medicinal marijuana bottles and fast food wrappers spread across it. If it would help to see the disappointing state of our local park, we have plenty of photos to share.I have spoken to many people in the neighborhood who feel the same way. One gentleman even described a young Joe Buscaino playing ball in the park well into the evenings. I cannot imagine his parents would let him play there today.Thank you for your time,
