Let me first say that the resort is super cute! However, there was a lot that could be improved on. First, I called and emailed the property several times prior to my arrival to secure tranaportation from pier to hotel. However, that request got no response. Second, we went to breakfast at 8am only to find out that there were dishes they already ran out of. It was an order of avacado toast..so not quite sure how you dont have that and why was it already gone so early in the morning. Third, we were told that housekeeping had to be requested and was not automatic. Ok..not a problem. However, when I do request it and you still dont show up, thats a problem. One morning, I woke up and went to sink to wash my face to only discover an infiltration of ants. They were EVERYWHERE!! My boyfriend called the front desk and said that they would send someone immediately, however after an hour and a half no one had shown up. I had to call a second time for someone to come and take care of the bugs. On the subject of bugs, I recognize that belize is a tropical destination and bugs, insects, reptiles are to be expected. However, i dont expect to have bugs in the bed that accost me during the night. I suffered over 20 bites. Thats unacceptable. We also booked a couples masaage only to find out thay we wouldnt be in the same room together getting the massage. Super disappointing. Lastly, my final invoice has additional charges that were incorrect. I called and emailed..but no response.

Stunning property with wonderful staff. Cottages are charming, quaint and clean. View of the sunset from the patio restaurant was unbeatable!Tuff E Nuff took us out to the reef for a full day trip of snorkeling, swimming with sharks and a stop at Caye Caulker. Sherri, the tour guide was AMAZING!! She had a wealth of knowledge about sea life, great communication and people skills and a genuine live for her country! I could go on and on about her! She’s a natural!! All in all, a magical trip!

We stayed in a two bedroom townhouse that was perfect for our family of three. It was spacious and very clean with a modern beachy vibe. We rented a golf cart the entire week which made the 10 minute drive into San Pedro easy. The island is surrounded by a large reef, so their private beach, that you get to by boat, is beautiful but shallow with no breaking waves. The fishing, scuba and snorkeling are great!

I started my Christmas tradition years ago exploring different places and cultures and I can attest Belize takes the cake. From start to finish and everything in between I was completely blown away. The resort was not only breathtaking by design but accessible, cleanly, and safe. The friendliest staff, Roberto, Henry, Macreena made my stay one to remember. Making this special place an experience of a lifetime. I think if I had to relive any second of 2020 it would be the 8 nights I spent at Mahogany Bay!

Wow! What an exquisite resort and restaurant. Will be going back. Basically, a little island. Best kept secret. The food is cooked to perfection. Great caring staff.

The property and especially the staff were great. The location of the property is pretty far from everything - if you want quiet seclusion, this is the place. Food and drinks are very expensive, but good. Website is deceiving about the beach front look and amenities.... their beach is actually a 15 minute, wave slamming, boat ride (if you have back problems, don’t go) also, the boats only go back and forth every 4 hours - so plan for that.

Townhouse style lodging was unique. Their private beach made our stay well worth it. You will need to rent a golf cart during your stay if you want to come and go in and out of the town. Walking is out of question. Remember theres $50 a day resort fee.

Very clean lines, cute casita-style homes the are the hotel rooms, its just a bit south of San Pedro downtown, so if youre planning on doing any sight-seeing in San Pedro or heading north to Secret Beach, youll need a golf cart to get around.

The rooms did not have enough supplies (paper towels, trash bags etc). The dryer did not dry items as it should and required at least 7 cycles just to get thoroughly dried. The resort seemed understaffed. They did not tell us where to get towels for the pool, the WiFi was insufficient and dropped often, the front desk did not always answer the phone, and the food and drinks were way overpriced and was subpar.

The hotel was great. They have several onsite restaurants, services and activities. They also have a private beach reachable by boat with hourly free ferries. I feel lucky to have experienced it early in its development.

This property is a beautiful little world unto itself. They seem to still be putting some of the finishing touches on the property, so there is some construction going on. I loved the little villas instead of hotel rooms-I dont know if the pictures do them justice. They have string lights on the trees at night and it really creates a beautiful atmosphere. The pool area was very nice and dining offered some standard foods as well as Belizian fare. You really dont have to go off of the grounds to have access to a variety of restaurants and bars, and there were shops with local art and jewelry. The resort is about a 20 minute golf cart/cab ride from the drop-off at the water taxi terminal. I would try to arrange to have a cab to come pick you up to take you if you can. Having a credit card and some cash on hand will help you to experience everything- one night we tried to get food at a stand but they were operating on a cash-only basis. Some places take US cash and Belizean money, some are specific to one. Its good to have both if you can. Outlets are standard US type A and B; you wont need adaptors. Bug spray is a must-the mosquitos are hungry!

DO NOT BOOK A STAY HERE! I had a reservation for March 2020 and they cancelled the reservation due to COVID and promised a refund would be issued. I have called every month to get an update and its December and still no refund. The front desk just keeps saying theyre waiting for Upper Management for approval. When I call Hilton corporate they say theres nothing they can do. You will never get your money back and the customer service is absolutely terrible!

We stayed at Mahogany Bay for about a week in December last year and had a fantastic stay! The staff was exceptionally friendly, polite and accommodated all our requests. The garden cottages were adorable, well appointed and cleaned thoroughly. The beach club is a truly a gem, had a regular boat schedule from the resort and full service bar and food. The over-water beach beds with food and cocktail service was the best way to enjoy pristine blue waters. They had free kayaks and SUPs as well. The food at the Verandah and bar was amazing, and if you get bored with their menu, they have local vendors selling amazing food in cute food shacks on the resort.We would like to thank Edir and Javier at the bar, Yarra and Yessenia for greeting us before every meal at the main restaurant, Melvin at check in, Dennis for driving us around in golf carts. Chef Adan for his amazing Christmas meal, Maurice at concierge and countless other hard working staff we cant remember names of. We will be back for more!

I booked a family trip for last March and had to cancel because of Covid. I have been waiting 10 months for my refund! I would never do business with this resort. I have been lied to multiple times with still no resolution. I have another family that was going on the same trip and they are in the same situation. These people are not trust worthy. I have also called Hilton Corp and gotten a worse run around. I WOULD NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE IF THEY GAVE ME THE PRESIDENT’S SUITE FOR A MONTH FOR FREE!

DO NOT book a trip to Mahogany Bay resort, especially while Covid-19 is still around. If you make reservations, Mahogany Bay will bill your credit card the cost of the reservations and get your money. Then, if the trip gets canceled, they will fail to give you a refund. I have been dealing with them, and most recently Hilton, since our spring break 2020 trip was canceled due to Covid-19. I still do not have a refund. They will try and convince you to take a credit and book a later trip, which we tried, but if the later trip doesn’t work out, they will fail to refund the money. In our circumstance, they claimed that they could not refund the money during Covid-19 because the resort was closed and the staff had to be on property to make the refund. Seriously? No staff or management has been on Mahogany Bay property since March of 2020 for maintenance reasons and to perform administrative or office related work? This defies logic and any level of credibility. Also, hard to believe an electronic refund could not be done remotely. Nevertheless, a week or so ago, Mahogany Bay posted on its Instagram page that the staff was back on property getting ready for the reopening. I guess getting ready for the reopening does not involve refunding money to folks that never got to take a trip to the resort because I still have not gotten a refund. A few weeks ago, I elevated my complaint to Hilton and received a fairly prompt response. Hilton asked for some credit card information to establish that my credit card had in fact been billed and I immediately provided them the information. On November 20th, I was told by Hilton that the check was being requested and would be sent. Having not received the check, I started emailing the Hilton representative early last week to determine the status. As of this review, I have not gotten any response over the last several days from Hilton or Mahogany Bay. As an additional note, I’m an attorney and they know this as the signature line on my emails to them have the name of my law firm and contact information. If they will treat an attorney this way, they will treat anyone this way. Very poor customer service and it’s hard to imagine that this place could get much right at all for customers actually visiting the resort.

Wonderful place to take a vacation! Private beach for resort guests with first class staff

Positives: the pool is lovely, the beach is private and some of the staff are good at what they do. Negatives: the lack of glass in the windows of the rooms means: you hear a couple close to you having sex, you smell the smoke from a smoker in your room, you hear the gold carts going by all times of the day/night and you cant open the blinds because the rooms are so close together, they can see into your room. The TV signal literally goes out every 10 to 15 minutes, Many times when a request would be made to a staff member, they would not do what what requested and would not follow up. I would not stay at this facility again until changes are made. It is expensive for what you actually get.

One of the most amazing properties Ive stayed at. All the grounds are kept up well and clean, staff is so nice and attentive, and so many options of things to do. The private beach that this hotel has is stunning, crystal clear water with staff that will serve you drinks and food anywhere. There are beds in the water that you can rent as well as hammocks that are free and enable you to lay in the water all day. There are huts located on the property that are ran by locals that serve amazing food, some of the best food we had while in Belize. The staff here take time to get to know, remembered our names after the first night and would say using our names. Staff will do anything to ensure your are having the best time. 100% will be back.

The beach is gorgeous and kinda personal because only a few people are throughout. We had only 2 other people on the boat with us to get there. The staff are very nice and helpful. The landscape is beautiful and the price for food are fair. However the not having windows in the room may keep me from returning idk..very loud! but soooo beautiful to listen to the birds and the rain. Just not the banging, golf carts and talking. More pros than con :)

Great experience with stellar staff and amenities.

Overall the place is good. Its brand new and the rooms are very clean. The service could be a lot better. We rented a day bed at the beach club ($75) and there was no bartender. We also locked ourselves out and it took 30 min for someone to bring us a key. The place is far from any bars so you are forced to eat and drink there. The sushi place is amazing. The local bar charged me $25 for a cadillac margarita which I though was egregious. Rooms are very very clean but they have the AC positioned right on you so you are too hot if you turn it off and have a strong draft if its on you. Lastly, we paid $150 for the room through hotels.com but then had to pay a $50 resort fee on top of it.
