This restaurant is taking advantage of customers. I have ordered in one month 3 separate times i ordered the exact food. Each time they increased my overall bill. I checked the prices on their sheet menus and online and did not match with my final payment. I understand the pandemic has put a crunch on restaurants but taking advantage of customers is unacceptable. Not going there again.

Looked different inside. Prices went up..Our waiter, as well as other staff, rushed us through dinner. We spent almost $200 on 6 of us. Wrong to be treated like that. We still gave a great tip, Food was ok... but with the prices higher and that kind of service... we probably will not return for a while if at all.

I was looking so forward to getting take out from here last night. It had been years and I used to love it. I ordered the Honey Walnut Prawns and Fried Rice.Aside from the fact that two items were $38.50 (seems high) the prawns were basically inedibke. They were very over cooked - like chewing on rubber and the sauce was not at all what I remembered (I could feel the sugar crystals and it was very heavy on the lemon). The nuts were lovely though.The rice was old tasting (stale?) and brown. The pieces were hard and it seemed like they poured way too much soy on it.I was hooing to give a local business some businees and enjoy some great chinese food. One of those things didnt happen. This was a 40 dollar mistake. So disappointing. Hi

Little pricey but generous portions and great food. Had Kung Pao beef and my wife had vegetable fried rice.

My family use to go here all the time when we lived in San Jose. We have since moved to GILROY where there is no Chinese food that can even come close to the taste, choice, service and atmosphere as Mandarin Gourmet. We very much miss it, and wish they would open a restaurant here in GILROY!

I got there about 1:30 p.m. They close from 2 -5. Im thinking they just had closing on their minds because my order was incorrect. I was asked if I wanted white rice or fried rice. I said fried rice please . I get home to a huge disappointment. The main portion of my meal was small and the WHITE rice they served me was overbearing. I ordered fried rice. I ordered two lunch specials which came out to 29$and change. Thats a lot of money for white rice. I tried calling them but they had already closed. I will call them at 5. Lets see if they make this right. I live too far to go back.

Delicious food, decent service, nice atmosphere. Couple of small things with the service, but otherwise an excellent experience. Definitely plan to come back!

I order shrimp cow main. Using cheap instant noodle and roll broken short and nothing stringy. Was so salty, have to drink a lot of water. Never ever order again.

Pretty good restaurant with typical (Americanized) Chinese food. Ive been there twice for lunch. The wait staff is attentive and the kitchen is fast.

We go here a lot for lunch w/ co-workers. I LOVE the Honey Walnut Chicken! Lunch special comes w/ small salad, hot & sour soup & free hot tea. Moo Goo Gai Pan is also awesome & healthy white meat chicken dish w/ vegetables. Service is pretty quick also. I am big fan of this place.

Very good, we enjoyed rediscovering Mandarin Gourmet. Thank you for the great experience. We will return!

The service is constantly swift, great atmosphere, very kind staff members. Will return here again when I am in town.

Whenever I come into town to visit Mandarin gourmet is always on my list to eat at. The best Chinese in town! The decor is a bit dated, but thats not why I come. Highly recommended. Im still looking for a place comparable in my hometown, its tough. :-)

I highly recommend this place. The food is delicious and the staff are amazing.

Tried Kung Pao chicken, sweet and sour chicken, egg rolls and egg flower soup. I would say food is just about average. Service is very good though. I am still going next time and try out some new stuff.

Great food. Seated right away. So many menu options. Staff was very friendly. Our waiter wasnt very attentive to when we were ready to order more food besides that the food is worth trying here.
