Visited last Friday Evening to celebrate a friends birthday. I live nearby and have been here couple of times. But this time the experience was amazing than ever, maybe its due to the new ownership.We are vegetarians and knew there wont be too much in starters, but to our surprise when we spoke to the staff about it. They were happy to cook us 2 whole some dishes of fresh starters. They served us Chilli panneer and chilli potato which were truly delicious.Staff was friendly and courteous. They served us fresh cooked garlic naans on request. Dal makhani and matar paneer In main course were superb too. And all ended well with warm gulab jumans as desserts. Loved it. Will visit often now. Thanks for making our evening special.

One hour wasted. Walked out without eating.Booked a table online for 7pm. Arrived and our table was not prepared. When seated at 7:05pm menu was given. Waited till have to call the waitress few time to get attention and she arrived at 7:20 to take the order. Asked we already have waited 20 mins to place order, how long for the goo to be ready and serve. She said 20 mins. Asked for drinks menu. 7:40 our drinks arrived none of them were cold. Waited another 20 mins and walked out at 8:00pm hungry and unfinished drinks.There was no organisation in waiting staff. The manager did not make eye contact. Another family tried to walk out before us as they got sick of waiting. Prices have been hiked to take full benefit from government scheme. Not recommended.

Great food....and choice, and very fiid value for money.....although they could do with keeping intop of some of the more popular dishes as they start to run out rather than having customers wait.

Good restaurant if you like quantity over quality. Indian is very over cooked but the Chinese wasnt too bad. Desserts are excellent. No Italian food and told this is due to a menu change and Spanish food is not even close to authentic.Atmosphere excellent and so is service. It is what it is...

Food had very little taste and they used the same sauce in a bolognese and a curry.

Good buffet with lots of choice. The food is above average for this type of place. The decoration is pretty good with an indoor fish pond. Could do with a good clean though and parking on the streets can be tricky.

Conveniently located in the centre of Caversham but I’m afraid the quality of food and service has deteriorated over the years and perhaps not as good as it used to be.

My favourite buffer for atmosphere and variety!

Easy quick food and you can choose from a wide variety of foods. Not really a bad waiting time and food is a good price. The cocktails can be a bit costly but they are yummy.

Always nice food, great service and lovely atmosphere

My first time to Spice Oven but not the last. Very impressed with the variety they maintain in their buffet menu, tried sikandari raan for the first time and found it very delicious. Staff is friendly, ambience is nice.

Recently went for Lunch 24th March 2019, not good and waste of money. i cant put less then 1 star so kept one.

Good selection but some curries not good

If you have kids and love fish pond, its the right place.

Always a great place to eat.Theres always plenty to choose from, and its always cooked well.The staff are always friendly and helpful.Would recommend.

We arrived at 6:30 for a friends birthday. The waitor took 20 mins to bring our drinks over. 2 of the dishes were cold and when I went back for a second plate of tikka masala the chicken was raw. Im now in bed with a bad belly and feeling extremely sick. Will definitely not visit there again

Nice environment. Very good Indian,chinese amd italian food. Good selection of salads. Worth it buffet item. Made to order Naan was fantastic.

Food was ok, many dishes were empty and not refilled. On the whole Id say ok but not special. Parking is a bit of a pain.

Very nice place for eating out with the family and especially kids and buffet style is marvelous and eat as much as you can.

A vast range of foods from around the world. Theres a good selection of Indian and Chinese dishes and theres lots of ice cream and other desserts to choose from. Theres also a pond with koi carp swimming about in the middle of the restaurant which is a nice touch.

The Spice Oven provides foods from China, Thailand, Italy and Great Britain. It is a self service buffet providing salads, starters, main courses and a selection of ice cres and puddings. Not elegant, but at a reasonable price.
