Maharlika pero shumit.
I suggest to anyone whos planning to come here to stay away. I had been curious about it since I saw it during a drive with a companion and I finally satisfied my curiosity. After looking at the Christmas lights and display at the Silay City Public Plaza, we headed to Cafe 1925 to have some light chow. We ordered fish and chips and a tres leches cupcake. The latter was too small for 65 pesos and tasted like a macaroon with a creamy and soft center. We waited a long time for the fish and chips. I was excited for it, however, because it looked well-fried and crispy. But one bite of it was enough to tell me that this place is not worth coming back to. The fish sticks themselves did not have their own taste, like they did not have any seasoning at all. I had to keep dabbing it on the mayo and mustard dip for flavor. And the chips were just supermarket bought. I shouldve expected this but I was hoping for some real potato chips. Maybe I was thinking that they could be up to par with the fish and chips offered by Le Chalet in Dumaguete City. Also, I expected something old, since the it was built in 1925 afterall. But no. The house behind the cafe was the one that was built in 1925. The cafe itself was just a recent addition and did not reek of the 1920s at all. Though I found their geometric pattern tiles to be quite charming.
4/5 stars for now!I came to try their Beef Stew and Lasagna but was disappointed when the waitress told me that some of their food were not available including the dishes I came for. I opted to try the Chicken Salpicao, a safe choice at that time. It was good and the serving was quite okay. I then had Pesto with Dried Fish to-go for my snack. The pasta was amazing! The pesto was not too strong and the dried fish gives this crunch and texture to the plate. It was definitely the star of my experience at Café 1925 but I will surely be back to try out their menu.
I love their pasta selections and especially impressed by the spaghetti with meatballs and sirloin steak sandwich. The latter has a cucumber salad sides which is mouthwatering. We sampled many pasta and they were all awesome. I wish they have their in house carbonated drinks since I skip colas.
A must try whenever you arrive from the airport. My wife and family always stop by this place whenever we arrive feom the airport. Place is cozy, cool and like home. Food is very good. Food serving per order is good for 2pax. I highly recommend this place. Price is affordable.
Cooling off and trying out the desserts at CAFE 1925 after a cultural and historical tour of Silay City. Featured desserts are their Coffee cake, Calamansi cheesecake and Cafe Americano. Hands down to the coffee cake. Really yummy!!
Ambience is quite nice...i also loved the cheese cake...with the ice cream, i liked the homemade chocolate better than the buko cheese (was it?)...
Sirloin sandwich is the bomb but then all their food are amazing
We ordered beef salpicao and cream dory!! Went here straight from Iloilo, no regrets!!
Great foodGreat ambianceBut lack of food choices in the menu
Nice ambience..great coffee..a bit pricey but worth it namn..
Very forgettable cafe! The only UNFORGETTABLE thing about this cafe was when our attention was called because we parked a few inches too close to their so-called parking area. Actually, we were dining at THE MANSION just next door. Yes, THE MANSION is sooooooooo much BETTER than this cafe (even forgot its name already). Whats this cafe again?
Unique food choices and its made with love; you can tell.
Must try their Pesto Bbq pasta..
Thought they close at 9:30 pm but I went here just now and they dont accept customers anymore. Sad
Delicious food! Wonderful place. Very accommodating staff.
The fried chicken, beef salpicao and sirloin sandwich is awesome, trya also Tablea Cake with Brewed Coffee.
A modern style cafe which offers a fine dine food which you can enjoy.
Very nice cozy place. Food is delicious and the desserts even more.
The renovated version is so much nicer. Its a popular place to stopover before going to the airport.
All I can say is, they really know how to cook good comfort food.
Wonderful food and service. Historical Silay at its best.
Best siomai and do try their Herbed chicken
I love how fast they cooked our food and the accommodating staff. We were the first customers today but it seems like they are already prepared to take us in.
Best triple chocolate cake. Better than Bacolods well known cake shops
Good food, good staff, clean, fair prices, historic.
Food was too way expensive but the taste is not that good
Food is not that tasty, or maybe just the food we tried. We had lasagna and beef salpicao. Both were just so-so.
The freshly brewed/french press coffee is good and very affordable for 50 pesos served for 2
Ambiance is nice.I notice, when I/other customers came in, the staff dont greet their customers at all, no food recommendation, not even a thank you/come again. Molo is a bit salty.
Great atmosphere, engaging staff and wide variety of food and beverages on offer. Unlike other establishments, 1925 is consistent in the quality and service it delivers.
The food is really good and i love the brownie chips.
Good for relaxing while you drinks
This is a place we go to from the airport. We just love their bruschetta! Thats it!
