It’s a very nice property with bar restaurant, live music one night, small pool just for a dip and a gym with old equipment. There is a petrol station out front which takes from the building, when sitting out in reception, however once out the back we couldn’t really tell. There is construction works happening out the back as they add additional rooms, once they are finished I would suggest getting a room back there for the views.Need to get a tricycle into town which can take a few minutes to hail or perhaps a bit longer if it’s late or a Sunday.

We stayed at Java Hotel on the 20th of December 2018. Here are my observations:It was easy to book a room over the phone and the hotel itself was easy to find. The hotel has a Petron Service Station in front of it, so, you wont really enjoy a view of its facade from the street. There is high traffic in the area, a lot of vehicle exhaust from buses and you will compete for parking space with other guests at the hotel and restaurant. The parking lot has no lines and guests parked anywhere. There is no valet, no parking attendant. The hotel has a thatched roof made of dry cogon leaves -- fire hazard when a gasoline station is in front. There is no designated parking space for senior citizens or PWDs. The ramp into the hotel lobby was so steep. The senior citizen/PWD who travelled with us could not manage the ramp without assistance. There is no sign that senior citizen discounts are offered on room bookings. I was not offered a senior citizen discount when I paid for the room at check-in.Room 108 was clean, no musty smell, no dust. It had a balcony but no view of the rice field and the Cordilleras. They are constructing a new building behind the hotel. The restaurant is accessible through a boardwalk. There are few solid walls around the lobby which added to the ventilation and the charm. Again, a person using a wheelchair that is not motorized will find it difficult to use the boardwalk. The pool is not wheelchair accessible -- the senior citizen in our group was not even able to go and see the pool or use it.The bagnet was well fried, crispy without being oily. Their poqui-poqui was buttery and well seasoned (see accompanying photo) I have no complaint about the food. The complimentary breakfast is plated, not a buffet. I had the continental breakfast which was oatmeal accompanied by a single banana. We booked a room for 4 people but there were not enough towels, toiletries, or water for four. We had to call the front desk three times to get what we needed. The bathroom was not accessible for our senior who used a wheelchair. We had to bring a chair in from the balcony and the Senior had to do musical chairs just to use the bathroom and bathe. Seniors are retired and they spend the money. The hotel should consider seniors/retirees a marketing niche and design amenities to include seniors and PWDs.When we ordered room service for dinner, they gave me the bill and I handed then the Senior citizen card for the discount, but the staff refused to give me the discount even if I paid in cash. We did not get our senior citizen discount for the food. The hotel has to train its staff better when dealing with seniors. When we checked out, there was a group of senior citizens also checking out and they asked for their discount. That was the first time I learned that seniors get a discount at hotels. I had paid for the room using a credit card and I never got my discount. To get the discount, the transaction had to be recalled and altered. This would have taken too much time. The rooms are not insulated from the noise in the hallway. Guests and even staff members ran in the hallway, used loud voices to talk with each other and banter. One staff member broke a glass. The hotel management should consider putting a rubber strip under the door to muffle the sound and train their staff not to break down the door when knocking, or, install a door bell so the guest (who may have the TV on) will hear if room service has arrived. They should not knock too loudly. My bad experiences at this hotel far outweighed the good experiences. I cannot understand how the Java Hotel can be the 2nd best hotel in Laoag. Next time I go to Laoag, I will stay at elsewhere.

We liked the location. Far enough away from the city core to enjoy quite but not too far to get into the core. I suppose the only criticism I have is that there are no elevators if you bring to much luggage. Although the porters are more than willing to carry anything up or down for you. We still enjoy this hotel and will use it again and again.

It was located in a busy street and in front of the hotel is a large gas station - so, you would not think there is a nice hotel located in the back of the gas station. The restaurant served authentic Filipino dishes as well as other selection. There was a group that serenaded diners which was a nice touch. The hotel rooms, restaurant, and grounds were very clean. Although we had to wait a little during check-in, the front desk staff were very helpful and courteous. It was approximately 15 minutes drive to the airport. We would stay here again and would recommend it to others.

Ps. I am reviewing the Eagles Nest Restaurants not Java hotel. Went there twice for a dinner evening and and a lunch.. The waiters were very attentive and responsive and called us mum and sir(awks)! And a bit too much attention on me ( as a person of colour). Staff members called in their coleagues to have a look too! .Trainee Waiter (I assumed) on our lunch service got a few things wrong but thats understandable. The food was very good and the wine reasonably priced compared to where wed been before. Highly recommend.

We booked a room (Junior Suite) for 5 days for our Wedding Anniversary. Our stay was perfect because our expectations were beyond what we experienced during our stay. The staff members are all kind and accommodating. They were friendly and are really attentive to the needs of the guests. The food served in the restaurant are all satisfying :) with a very affordable price. :) We really expected that the prices will be a little bit expensive but to our surprise your price range for your dishes is affordable. The room is well-lit and clean. The staff who assisted us during our check-in even gladly told us that we can ask for complimentary bath amenities everyday. We are also glad we were not charged for checking in earlier. :)Though there are just some points that we were a little bit disappointed. We booked your hotel because of the amenities we are looking for while searching online. There was bathtub and all the things we wanted especially the swimming pool. The bathtub was okay but it is small for a couple. We enjoyed the swimming pool for about 2 nights. Though, the third day we planned to swim we were informed by your front desk personnel that they were just notified that morning that there will be a renovation. She told us that it will take 15 days until the pool can be use again. We were just disappointed with that because we really booked a room in your hotel for your amenities. What is even more disappointing, 4 of your employees already pass through us while we are going to the pool and did not even informed us that the pool is closed for a renovation. They even saw us wearing swimming attires but they just greeted us and go on wherever they are going. I guess the hotel should inform there guests before hand with this kind of renovation. But still, we enjoyed our stay in your hotel. :)

Mixed experiences from bad to quite good makes this one hard to rate.Initially booked a junior suite which turned out to be just a slightly larger than normal room, but located below the ground floor near the car park. Dingy and noisy, unfortunately the room also had seriously grubby walls and mould in the bathroom. Some of the furniture was badly chipped and scuffed. Not impressed. On return (already paid for) I sought a garden view room on the second floor. It was great. Much nicer with balcony and view if smaller. Ironically, while in much better condition it was cheaper! Java, your junior suites are inferior rooms!Staff were helpful and driver Joel was excellent - safe, efficient, courteous. He fully redeemed the hotels reputation on a couple of long drives.Food was not bad, if a bit limited especially at breakfast. A few more healthy choices would be good. All in all Id go back, as long as I got the better (cheaper) room!

Okay place, although avoid their suites which are not actually suites. Get a deluxe room (better and cheaper!) and youll be happy. Overall the rooms were fine, although the balcony seemed to never be cleaned, so if you walked outside, a lot of dust stuck to your feet! But there was no noise and we had a pleasant sleep. The pool was rather small and had some sharp screws poking out of its fixtures, so not a super great experience. The poolside chairs were also worn down.Fine location, tricycle will get you anywhere. 150 peso to mall, 40 peso to downtown. 200 peso to nearest beach (Fort Ilocandia). There are cheap jeepneys and buses to neighboring cities every hour or two.Go check out Currimao beach - it is a bit more distant but very nice. Youll need to ride a bus or jeepney to a nearby city and then take a tricycle transfer to get there. The hotel restaurant is nothing special, go out into town for better food.Overall, would stay again but not get too excited about the hotel. Stay there for the night but dont plan to spend time there.

Good in some aspects but a disappointing experienceWe stayed overnight at this hotel on the 20th of December. It was a disappointing experience:1. Location. It wasnt hard to find as we used Waze. There is a Petron Gas Station right in front. It is a busy place with a lot of cars coming and going. There is inadequate parking and no parking attendant. The fumes from all the buses and trucks are something else.2. Parking and handicapped access. I booked over the telephone and I specifically told the staff that I was traveling with a senior who used a wheelchair. They assured me that their hotel was wheelchair accessible. Here is the disconnect. I think we define accessible differently. The whole point of accessibility ramps is so that people who used wheelchairs can get into the building by themselves. The wheelchair ramp of the Java Hotel was so steep. There were cars parked right next to them so that two staff members were required to help our senior get into the hotel.3. Senior discount. I booked over the phone and told them I had a senior with me, I was not offered the senior discount. I paid for the room at check-in and we were not offered the senior discount, either. It was only when I was checking us out, when there was a group comprised of seniors that I learned that there was a discount available for senior citizens. By that time, it was too late. I had paid by credit card and it would have taken hours to sort it out and for me to get a refund.4. Service. We booked a room for four members of our family. I called them twice to inform them that we were on our way. When we got to the room, there were only toiletries, towel and water for two guests, not four. We called the front desk three times for toiletries and towels to be brought to our room. Staff were inefficient. We heard them through the night joking in the hall, breaking a drinking glass and laughing after it had broken. They are not well trained.5. Room service. We had driven 10 hours from Bulacan. We were understandably exhausted. We asked for food to be delivered. There is an extra charge for the delivery of food, which was minimal. I paid for the food in cash and the food was good. But when the food was delivered, I asked for a senior discount and I was refused. The reason? Maam, sana po kanina pa ninyo binigay iyong senior card ninyo (how could I when I had asked for room service?). Naka-print na po ang resibo (this is not an excuse because tape receipts from a cash register can always be cancelled and a new one entered). I did not get my senior discount. What the staff should have done was to take my senior card, had her supervisor cancel the first receipt and give me the discount.6. View. There is no more view. There used to be a view of the rice fields behind the hotel. There is construction there now of new rooms and there will no longer be any view of the rice fields. The management does not understand that people want a view. This is why people travel, to see different things or to see things from a different perspective.7. Room. The room was clean. It smelled clean. The beds were comfortable and the sheets smelled clean. The problem I had was the bathroom door was too narrow -- the wheelchair could not get into the bathroom. We took the chair in the balcony and the senior citizen in our party played musical chairs to get to the toilet. This is not only inconvenient, it is also dangerous because the senior citizen may slip in the bathroom. It is also humiliating and degrading for a person who uses a wheelchair to have to resort to asking others for help accomplishing private hygiene tasks. For this reason alone, I detest this hotel and I will never stay here again or recommend it for people who are traveling with a senior citizen who uses a wheelchair or for persons with disabilities.I was so disgusted with my stay at this hotel, I had no desire to take pictures. One more thing, the hotel was right behind a gas station, and for a design feature, it had a cogon roof (fire hazard).

Came to visit in April 2015. It was a good hotel, staff are friendly, room is clean, a/c was really good. However, we went to the restaurant attached to the hotel, walked in and bang, i face planted myself. There were gravels laid on the main entrance which is concrete floor. How stupid, of course it is asking for trouble. The floor was slippery and when i asked if there is any health and safety officer around so i can suggest that placing gravels on the concrete floor is hazardous and extremely dangerous no one seems to know what i am talking about. The waiters/waitresses were so apologetic but hey, they just work there, it is not their fault. The guy on the bar just looked at me and no offer of help to get me up and the worst thing, i found out he is the owner of the restaurant. When i asked if i can speak to him he just left and disappeared. how rude, no people skills. If i am really nasty i can take it to another level. The owner needs to learn some customer service and please take the gravels off before someone seriously get hurt. So for future visitors, if the gravels are still there please be careful. The staff are really friendly and i found out i am not the first that slipped on the floor. So come on, when are you going to realise that it is dangerous?
