So happy that I finally got to visit them today and it was all so worth it. It is a typical Filipino carenderia set-up but their food is definitely a notch higher than the rest. Very affordable dishes although I thought the cup of rice was kinda pricey at Php20.00. I paid Php110.00 for 1 dish, 2 cups of rice and 1 bottle of softdrink. I would recommend the Paksiw and Dinardaraan - definitely one of the best versions of these dishes.

Very nice staff. I guess they are used to the number of people coming over for breakfast. Lots of people around 7am. But people eat kinda fast. Dont expect fancy seating.

Small and simple karinderia but the luck of visual appeal and the impression of being for commoners is totally eclipse by the taste of their food they offer. Absolutely two thumbs up.

One of San Nicolass culinary institutions, Dawang as locals call it, serves homemade Ilokano dishes with a very home-karinderya ambiance, literally.Their signature dish is crispy dinardaraan (dinuguan), pork blood stew with crispy pork cracklings. Pair it with papaitan (bitter beef/goat innard stew), and rice and its a power breakfast! I only spent PhP85 for the complete set of solo meal.You have to be here in the morning, around 7am for the breakfast, since the food may run out by late morning or noontime.To get here from Laoag, take a tricycle (PhP50 from Laoag since its outside the city) or jeepney (terminal is beside Ilocos Norte Provincial Capitol). Tell the driver to bring you to Dawang.

Must order tinuno (grilled meat and liver), igado and dinardaraan (dinuguan) and lots of rice.
