Alluscita piccolo elegante negozietto artigianato e bar.

#SirangLente #AimFor81 #PinasMuna #ItsMoreFunInThePhilippines - amazing structural design. Well preserved memorabilia.HISTORY: The ancestral house shows how a prominent family lives during their generations. From the floor, artistic walls, windows up to the roof top - its really gorgeous. At the main entrance of this house, its historical background was written and heres what it says: This house was built in the mid-19th century by Alejandro Reynes y Rosales and was bought by Juan Isidro de Gorordo, a Spanish merchant, in 1863. Four generations of the Gorordo family lived in this house, including Juan Gorordo, first Filipino Bishop of Cebu, 1910-1932

Oven and water filter and antics back in spanish time, thats a wow.

Summarised in one word, this place is: beautiful. They restored the house in its full glory. Its pristine with tasteful decor that adds character and a more authentic snapshot of what it was like to live here a few centuries ago.The tickets come with a free keychain, which is a great souvenir. Then, you get a tour guide as well, who is extremely knowledgeable and will present a full history in an easy to understand slide show. After which, there will be a brief video that talks about architecture and the blending of cultures. Then, the tour of the house actually happens.Casa Gorordo Museum offers a great introduction to the history of Cebu and how its community today was shaped. I fully recommend going here first, then checking out the nearby Yap house for a Chinese family outlook, and then the Jesuit House (all within a short walking distance away) for a more religous take. This way, youll get a variety of information in different perspectives of different groups that contributed to Cebus history.

This museum has the most comprehensive guided tour I had experienced so far compared to other museums I have visited in the Visayas area. They have very competent tour guides and you can ask them questions. Upon payment, they also give you a keychain xd They also have a cafe nearby and a souvenir shop so you can buy pasalubong and eat if you are hungry.

Our (my siblings and I) shared interest for old houses and history brought us to this place. They had different choices for the entrance fee (there was an option where you get a free drink at their cafe at the end of the tour); we availed the Php 120 entrance fee (no drink) and they gave us a souvenir keychain. We were asked to wait for our tour guide inside a room. After a while, we were greeted by a Korean national who was interning in the museum. The tour went by smoothly. Our tour guide was really knowledgeable on the history of the house. The place was very clean and well-maintained. After the tour, we stayed for a while to take pictures around; we were allowed to do so as long as we dont touch anything. The exit was through their cafe and we were enticed by their cakes so we bought 1 slice of ube cake and 1 slice of carrot cake. They were reaaaaaally good. A def must-try!

CASA GORORDO MUSEUM - Located in Lopez Jaena Street, it is the home of the first Filipino Bishop of Cebu - Juan Gorordo (1862-1934). A tour inside this residence is a brief journey into a Filipino lifestyle in a particular period between 1860 to 1920. The place presently features noted paintings, museum relics, a courtyard, antique household items and furniture. The Casa Gorordo Museum was originally a two-storey house built in the mid-19th century in the historic Parian district of Cebu City. During the Spanish colonial era, the Parian district was the most prestigious section of the city and home to its most prominent families.During the Spanish colonial era, Alejandro Reynes y Rosales built the house. It was later bought in 1863 by Juan Isidro De Gorordo, a Spanish merchant. The house was then bought in 1980 by the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI) under its Cultural Heritage Program. It was opened as a museum in 1983. The National Historical Institute declared the house as a National Historical Landmark in 1991.The house is a wood-and-stone type of house that was a typical architectural type during the Spanish colonial period. Locally called as bahay na bato, the house is built with coral stone blocks, molave hardwood flooring and terra-cotta roof tiles. Displayed inside the museum is elaborate antique furniture, period costumes, paintings and religious images, wood carvings, decorative art and household items, and tools for farming, kitchen and baking. It also has a gallery for contemporary art on the ground floor. The lower part of the house has walls of Mactan coral stone, which makes it deliciously cool in the middle of the day. The stunning upper-storey living quarters are pure Philippine hardwood, held together not with nails but with wooden pegs. As well as having Spanish and native influences, the house incorporates principles of feng shui, owing to the Chinese ancestry of Gorordo matriarch Donna Telerafora (whose death portrait graces the hallway). Items on display includes kitchen implements, antique photos and furniture.Entrance admission rates are based on rates for international and local visitors. Foreign tourists pay Php70 for adults and Php50 for students. Local tourists pay Php40 for adults, Php15 for college students, and Php10 for high school and elementary students. You cannot use a camcorder in this museum , nor use flash on your camera, both are forbidden.

A Spanish era residential house turned into a museum and named after Juan Gorordo, the first Filipino Bishop of Cebu . . . it is presently owned and maintained by the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. (RAFI) . . . the proponent of the yearly heritage night called Gabii sa Kabilin every last Friday of May.Visiting this museum would give you a vivid picture of how Cebu looked like and how Cebuanos lived during the 1800s . . . this beautifully restored structure and landmark would surely make you proud as a Cebuano.I usually bring friends, visitors, and tourists here so they learn more about Cebu . . . its culture, heritage, and history. One more thing, this year (2018), I bought in the museum store, a new edition of the book entitled, TABUNAN: The Untold Exploits of the Famed Cebu Guerillas of World War II written by Col. Manuel F. Segura.* Postscript: Ive been visiting this museum every year since the night I joined my first Gabii sa Kabilin adventure in 2015.
