Another Japanese food house in Southmall has just opened. I wonder how tight the competition must be... gourmet must be satisfied. Got to try their best sellers that may change my 4-star rating for them to a 5. Will definitely see soon.030120 visit: successfully tried their ramen after several attempts. Tantanmen is absolutely A-Ok!
Clean environmentAccomodating Staff. It is rare to find a waitress to know everything about the food they serve.I ordered Mango Shake for my drink for its price I was expecting that they will use fresh fruits but I was slightly disappointed. Ordered Chashu don for my meal and the ratio is quite bad. Way too much rice to cover the fact that they serve a small amount of meat and the taste didnt justify its price.
I hate to post negative reviews but I absolutely did not appreciate the cold reception we received when we dined there on Dec 29,2019. Granted that we came in close to closing time, we wouldve preferred to have been politely turned away instead of being treated like we were such great inconvenience. Either way, it was not like we were the only ones at the restaurant- there were at least 4 tables they were waiting on. Moreover, the main reason why we went there was because it was the only restaurant at that time that was not packed! We originally intended to go to Contis but it was just buzzing. I guess shame on us for choosing quick service over what wouldve been a more pleasant experience. Their food is ok (we ordered 2 maki rolls and teppanyaki) - that is presuming you had no prior idea of what Japanese food tastes like. Otherwise, it basically is straight up forgettable.
