This has been a family favorite of ours for ever! I have been coming here for years. I would love to give it 5 stars, but recently the past 4 visits they have been out of oysters. I find it odd because I eat at many other local seafood restaurants that have oysters on the half shell right now. Tommy’s offers such a good happy hour price I’ve always come here when I had an oyster craving. They keep saying because of the freeze, then because of rain.... it’s frustrating to be called an oyster bar when there aren’t oysters. Service at the bar has gone down as well. The female bartenders only socialize with frequent guests but do not put attention into newer patrons. Hopefully things improve because I do enjoy this place.
Tommy’s is my favorite restaurant. I try to visit once a week but would be there every day if I could.Their drinks are second to none, service is unfalteringly exemplary and the food is beyond reproach. When I have friends/family visiting, this is the place I always take them. It never disappoints.
The only that I came for they did not have: oysters on the half shell. But the service was nice and the food was decent.
Mr. Ruben was very attentive and helpful and made sure that my celiac disease wouldnt be ignored. We ordered Raw and Grilled oysters, Drunken Shrimp, Scallops, Salads (cruton free) and Creme Brulee. Everything was delicious and I did not get sick due to any gluten cross-contamination. Thank you Ruben, Chef and team!
The food was amazing and the service exceptional. Combined with the cleanliness of the restaurant it was the best dinner weve had in a while. We will definitely be back.
Great service and good food. Fridays fresh oysters are $8 a dozen. They are the freshest Ive ever eaten.
A great gem we found on Yelp. Our server Gregory was the absolute BEST! He was very attentive, exceptionally knowledgeable, and every suggestion he gave tasted great!
Great food and a great atmosphere. The service was wonderful. Me and the wife loved it. Only thing I would recommend to anyone is dress nice, we were way underdressed
We went on a recommendation and were a bit skeptical about how good it could really be. This place has amazing seafood! Everything we ordered was fresh and great tasting. From the gumbo to the stuffed seafood mushrooms to the blackened tilapia, everything was spot on. I ordered a vodka martini and thought this is where they will mess up. I was pleasantly wrong! I listened for the distinct rattling of the shaker as the bartender mixed my drink. She shook it for the standard 45 seconds required to make a perfect martini. The server made recommendations based on descriptions of what we liked. He too was spot on. Alas, this quality in food service does come at a price. While its not ridiculous expensive, it is not cheap either. My tab for an appetizer, cup of gumbo, glass of wine, 2 martinis, and 2 tilapia dishes was $108.00 plus the tip was $126.00 but worth every penny. The only thing, and maybe personal taste, the decor could be, well, more of it. It looks to be contemporary minimalist.(If thats a thing) Go, you will not be disappointed but bring extra cash.
We ate from appetizer menu: oysters on half shell, drunken shrimp, escargot, fish tacos, and wedge with steak. Very good. Fried green tomatoes were okay. Whiskey sour was outstanding. Service was great. Seemed to be a neighborhood upscale place.
This spot usually has great service but tonight was horrible. I wasnt greeted at the door. Myself and my date had to seat ourselves and the woman behind the bar gave horrible service. First she brought out a half dozen oysters when I asked for a dozen and to bring out a Corna with my oysters. Then after telling her for the 3rd time she finally brought out the other half dozen but still forgot the beer. But on the other hand the food was great, minus the bad service. I would say it was because Im black but Ive been in the past and received excellent service. Hopefully it was because the were short staffed, but still no excuse for the bad service . I should have spoke to management, maybe they will read this and address the situation
