Its impossible to get any clarity as to what you will pay after a procedure or visit. Their cost estimate tool doesnt work, and has also been inaccurate, and when I asked the respective departments directly, they gave me misinformation and I ended up owing much more than they had told me. If they dont know the information, they shouldnt be informing patients of said information.For example, before having an MRI done, I talked to a gentleman in the diagnostic department office to see what my copay is for the procedure, and hed said I would not owe anything for the procedure and it would be covered by my insurance completely. Several weeks after the procedure, I owe hundreds to Rush. This is deceitful and I intended to leave Rush immediately.Additionally, I was supposed to have a nerve block this morning that was scheduled a month ago, as they said they needed it to schedule it far out in time as to allow time for authorization. I had called my insurance beforehand to check that authorization was made, and they said they had not been contacted by the hospital for authorization and that I would need authorization for the nerve block. My first attempt to contact the hospital after that resulted in someone from the Physical Rehab department transferring me to billing, who said I was improperly transferred as they only handle services that have already occurred, so they transferred me to the business department, where I received an automated message that said there was a system failure and it hung up on me. I called back the Rehab department, and a lady said she is trying to get in touch with someone who works for/with the doctor, and shed call be back 2-3 minutes later. I waited 30 minutes and didnt get the call back until a bit after that and I missed that call. I tried calling back, but the lady was unavailable and is supposed to be calling me back... Takeaways: The office did not call my insurance company to authorize the procedure, no one can tell me how much this will cost me, and the disorganization and lack of clarity to the patient is incomprehensible.Instead of the one star, Im giving two, because my primary care physician is a wonderful, caring doctor.
