Thank you all for making my stay at the InterContinental Hotel on the Miracle Mile a memorable experience. I was greeted at the door, Thank You Will. The check in process was smooth. I received a call from the front desk once I arrived at my room to make sure I was comfortable. This was such a kind gesture and I truly appreciate the effort. The accommodations were clean and spacious, the bed very comfortable and the view of the city was spectacular. Easy walking distance to meet my team for dinner. Very walkable location. Starbucks for breakfast- friendly and efficient staff! I enjoyed my stay at this Intercontinental Property and can easily recommend staying here!

We stayed for only one night for a shopping getaway. Checked in early and met our new friend Will. He is an amazing Bell Hop and even a better person. I’ve never met a person that loves life and job as much as he does. He gave us tips to enjoy our stay and places to go, eat and shop. We intend to stay again just so we can see Will. The pool is amazing and the hotel and room was very clean. Hope to return soon post Covid to enjoy all the amenities Intercontinental has to offer.

I utilized the digital check in and asked for early arrival. We arrived at noon and I was told our room wasn’t ready. Check in is 3pm, so we left our bags with the doorman and went out walking. At 3:30, we still hadn’t heard anything, so we walked back. I asked about our room again and it took them 20 minutes to finally get us a room. The doorman had said he would bring our bags up, but they didn’t so I had to go back down to find them. After all the waiting, we get to the room to discover our view is of giant cement bricks covering 70% of the window. The noise at night from the room next to us was exhausting and kept me and my kids up both nights. I told the front desk and they said they couldn’t move us but they would see what they could do. The blinds on one of the windows was broken and when we tried to open it, a large metal bracket fell on my son. I asked for maintenance to come and they never showed. I asked for our room to be cleaned during our stay and it was not. On the night before our departure, I went to the front desk and asked for late check out, especially since our check in was so delayed. The front desk told me that they could accommodate a 1pm check out, but I could move to another room in the morning for a noon check out. Just didn’t make sense to me. He did finally allow us to check out at noon from our room, but I had to go back down to someone else in the am. The pool area was dirty with towels everyone and there was not one hotel employee present in the pool area at all. No one came at any time to wipe down chairs or pick up towels. The location was nice, but I don’t think we will stay again. My son still has a bruise and I just was shocked no one could respond to our requests about the noise and the window. The staff was pleasant, but non responsive. I just thought for the cost of the rooms and booking directly with the hotel as a IHG member it would have meant better service, a better room with an actual view, and an attentive staff. We will be going back to our normal hotel preferences where the room rates are better and I know I will get what I pay for.

We stayed here because the pool was open. The rooms are nice and clean. However, more than 2 pillows on a king size bed would be nice. Two little pillows on a bed does not scream luxury. Starbucks was open and that was nice. The restaurant was closed and there was no room service. It’s time to reopen those things. Overall a nice place.

Exceptional hotel! One of the finest in Chicago! Eve, Will and Malcom helped to make our stay perfect! Great service and they went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. This was a memorable stay-cation for our family. We enjoyed the beautiful Spring temperatures and the location is ideal! The pool is an architectural beauty!

We had a wonderful weekend stay at the Intercontinental on Michigan Avenue in Chicago. The staff was welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Our daughters loved the pool and we all loved the location which provided easy access to shopping and restaurants. We were also only a short drive from the Shedd Aquarium and Chinatown both of which we visited during our weekend visit. An added bonus is that Starbucks is attached to the hotel lobby and Stans donuts is just around the corner!

We called ahead for an early check-in time. We were assured that a rush would be placed with housekeeping so our room would be ready upon our arrival. However, this never happened, and we had to wait several hours for the room to be available. On the plus side, the room had a great view and nice bathroom (separate tub and shower). The pool is incredible and has original 1920s architectural features.

My family had a great staycation experience! The pool provided endless entertainment for my 7 and 10 year old boys. Hotel was very clean and staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms with 2 beds are double beds. The hotel does not have queen size beds- that was the only downside. Otherwise, we had a great stay!!

My husband and I wanted to do a staycation with our two young kids, and after researching a lot of hotels, we are happy we chose the Intercontinental.Check-in was seamless, the hotel room was spotless, and we received a complimentary upgrade. The hotel staff was very friendly and upon check-in and throughout our entire stay.We felt very safe using the pool area (you cannot reserve a time but the pool is large enough to ensure appropriate social distancing). Most of the time we went, we were either there alone or with one other family. The pool is beautiful, not a generic hotel pool one is accustomed to seeing. My kids are already asking when we can go back to the hotel again, and we definitely might do it again before the Spring. We felt very safe staying at the hotel (everyone was masked, respecting social distancing, and the room and common areas were all very clean and well kept). I would highly recommend the Intercontinental for a nice weekend in the city. Lots of great restaurants to order takeout from and nice to walk along the river and down Michigan Avenue. Thank you for a lovely stay!

What a great hotel the Intercontinental is..... First time staying here and was very impressed with the cleanliness especially for the age of the building. We loved the pool and all the art deco made you feel like you were sent back in time to the prohibition era. The location is excellent however the view of the city is very limited. Overall great hotel.

We made a late decision to spend our daughters 16th birthday in city and made the reservation less than a week in advance. We are a family of 4. We brought our own dinner and birthday cake in; realized we needed plates. Called on way down and Malcolm had dinnerware waiting for us upon check-in. He was very welcoming and professional. Room was very spacious. Only complaint was about the beds. Im pretty sure I was told they were queens, they were full sized. While the bed was comfy, there did seem to be a hollow in the middle of one of them.

We had the opportunity to stay at the hotel overnight for a Chicago staycation. The hotel was very clean. Everyone we encountered followed Covid safe guidelines. The pool is huge and we were able to maintain safe distances from the other guests. None of the restaurants/room service were operational, so we had to find other means. But the hotel is in a great location for many nearby restaurants, it wasnt really an issue. Huge tv in the room and we were able to use Netflix on it. We completely enjoyed our stay. Thank you for a great experience.

Wasnt sure what to expect as this was our first venture out in the pandemic, but happy to say we have no regrets! Hotel was very clean and contactless! They called our room within the first 10 minutes to make sure room was clean and we barely saw anyone the whole time we were there except for masked staff constantly cleaning common areas and monitoring pool/fitness area for cleanliness and social distancing (which wasnt a problem at all). Felt very safe and comfortable and had a very pleasant stay. If youre within driving distance of Chicago and looking to escape the confines of home after nearly a year of pandemic... go and enjoy!

The place was promising, the front desk recommended a city view room and the executive suite faced a wall of the building. There was no room service or restaurants within the hotel making it difficult to relax upon arrival. Front desk had one person working. There was no way to contact front desk via the phone in the room. One had to to go to the lobby to do so. For the price I paid (almost 300 dollars) one would expect better service and amenities.

We had a great stay at the Intercontinental! My family of 4, with two little ones came to Chicago to celebrate my sons 6th birthday (during covid). Everything felt clean and safe and we were well taken care of.

Coronavirus restrictions and reductions greatly crimp the experience, with few staff around, no room service. But the place is super clean, well-kept, well-maintained, in a great Chicago location. The lobby is relatively small, and rather creepy with so few staff people. Good that occupancy is low, because elevators now only hold 1 family! The swimming pool is a stunning remnant of the original 1920s luxury lodging.

Tried putting us in a room on the 40th floor which was its own suite however the bedrooms were too far apart for the three small children that we had with us. We had requested a double king with a living room and I believe they gave our room to someone else because they tried compensating us by putting us in our private elevator. When we did not want that room because it was not convenient they moved us to a room with two double beds which did not meet our sleeping accommodations. We were given a $40 credit at Starbucks which is not at all somewhere I would’ve gone. So needless to say it was a restless night because they’re pull out sofa is as thin as a piece of paper and trying to fit two adults and three children and two double beds is not convenient or comfortable. The bellman was the best and even though the front desk somewhat tried I believe they knew they gave my room to someone else and didn’t have a whole Lotta answers for me to compensate. My husband and I brought our three grandchildren for our granddaughter‘s eighth birthday on the train to go to the American girl doll store that is all she asked for. It became more of a hassle and too much time trying to get into a room than what it was worth. I paid a lot for this one room for one night It wasn’t the room that I had residences, would’ve much rather preferred a lower and hotel that would’ve given me the room I requested. We visit Chicago often but I will not be visiting this hotel again.

Everyone at the front desk was very helpful. I could tell they really cared and wanted to make sure we were enjoying our stay. One of the employees who recognized us from prior visits (Malcolm) was helping another customer when we checked in, so he called up to the room to welcome us back to the hotel and make sure the room was OK. The fact that they take time to get to know their customers makes a big difference. I also liked how they were taking every precaution possible during this health crisis - my wife and I both felt very safe. Despite the pandemic, the lobby was decorated well for the holidays and this hotel has amazing access to one of the best parts of Chicago, with all of the lights and decorations along Michigan Avenue. We had such a great time!

This is a superb Chicago property, with fine rooms and a massive indoor pool. The front desk staff was friendly. My room was in the Executive Tower, and it was spotless. The bed was firm and comfortable. The bathroom featured a bath tub and shower.Unfortunately, there was no room service available in December 2020. But there are several fine restaurants nearby.Though I am a local, I spent a night here to get some work done away from home, for a change of scenery.

We haven’t stayed at any hotels since the start of Covid-19, however, the Intercontinental has the highest safety standards I found across the hotels in Chicago: the room is sealed for at least 72 hours before check-in and all the restaurants and shops are closed. We went to this hotel for my daughter’s birthday since she loves deep swimming pools, and the swimming pool was absolutely amazing, like something from the “The Great Gatsby” or “Scoop” movies. It has ~25 feet celling which also makes it way safer from covid spreading. The room was exceptionally clean and neat.Sanitizers everywhere and staff is very responsive.

I did a lot of research to where to stay and location wise...I picked here because of the mini iPod tour that was searched online. I know “due to COVID “ etc etc because that’s all I heard, which I understand. However, I don’t think the speakeasy panels or the blue ceilings wouldve have caught COVID had I looked at them and enjoyed the historical architecture there but I was denied to view, twice. I left so devastated. In addition, the room window panels need some help fixing as well.I would’ve loved to have seen the other though.

We very much enjoyed staying at this hotel and will be back. I was in an executive suite with my daughter and her friend. I slept on the sofa sleeper and my room was so cold. The temp was70 and I shivered most of the night and barely slept. The last time I was at the hotel there was a room above me playing loud music all night with a loud base beat. I called the front desk and even went there at 5 am to complain. Nothing was done. This was the second time I stayed and the heater was broken. I got married here 25 years ago and I am so sad to say I will not be returning.

I was in Chicago for business and had early mornings. The hotel was great with great staff, but there is no restaurant or bar or parking. Therefore, I had to walk several blocks in the ice and snow every day to a parking lot. That significantly decreased the enjoyment of my stay. I understand that the restaurant is closed due to COVID, but I have stayed in plenty of other hotels that still have restaurants and bars open. When I came in late from work and had to park my car in a lot several blocks away, getting food was a challenge in inclement weather.

A really legendary and great hotel overall. Due to COVID, don’t expect super amenities - for example no bell service, no room service, no on site parking. I think they’re going pretty slight these days.
