Our waiter was very good. The food however was a major disappointment. We had eaten here St Pats weekend-place was mobbed 2 hr wait, but the food we had was really on point. So we bragged to every how great it was and then brought friends-wow, I was embarrassed. My burger not great, fries came out cold inside, so I asked for hot fries and I got what I believe to be re-dipped in oil fries-they were not edible. The mussels were good and the beef stew was good. The bread pudding, the one thing we loved on our last visit, was horrible, as in spit it out bad. Would go back to Guinness it is really nice, but won’t be spending my money in 1817 Restaurant.

Was celebrating an anniversary here for brunch on Sunday. The poor experience began from the beginning by getting seated next to the kitchen in a fairly empty restaurant. When asked for another seating location it was met with a perception of reluctancy but words of customer service first by what appeared to be a floor manager. It continued through the meal with stale and luke warm cinammon rolls (pointed out nicely to waitress), room temperature main courses served in cast iron skillets that were used only for decoration (surprising that they werent hot after first conversation about rolls), and stale biscuits. Im not a chef but it seems to me that zapping that cast iron skillet in the oven at 450/500 for 5 min would solve the issue. Its very unfortunate because the taproom experience has always been top notch and I had very high expectations for the restaurant. Not being able to execute on hot food for brunch certainly leads me to believe the same would occur at dinner. For the prices and the atmosphere you would expect high quality but delivers with low quality food preparation. I will 100% be back for the taproom and outside atmosphere when its nice out. Its highly unlikely I will be back to partake in the restaurant again, unfortunately.

Good outdoor seating. Guinness Beer is more expensive than your neighbourhood bar/pub.

I would give a 5 rating if they cared to carry decent quality food. Ok my expectations are based on other good breweries who stake their reputation on serving quality craft food with quality craft beer, but serving a turkey sandwich using the lowest grade sysco quality watery tasteless processed meat and calling it turkey is an insult to any reasonable person. Still to get a 4 stars after lousy food tells you something! Guinness put some real effort into making this a worthy destination (as long as your not hungry). Thumbs down on the stadium lighting around the green area, and some trees would be nice in the park area in front of the brewery. Otherwise this place is Awesome! I was truly blown away. Great place to visit! Bring friends and a Frisby
