Enjoyed our rainy day trip. Was free on Sunday. Building is pretty amazing, would have liked to see the labs in operation, but we visited on the weekend. Not a lot of bones, mainly casts but you can interact with them. The geology collection was pretty cool. And we enjoyed the Michigan rooms

Something fun for the kids to do. However we believe in creation and not the theory of evolution that they are trying to push here.

This museum is small, but as expected since it is a free entry museum. The planetarium was cool but unexpected; usually for planetariums like this, it is more of a movie on the screen, but this one had a narrator/presenter who talked to us about the topic, and it was interactive, so the audience could shout out answers that the presenter would ask.

Some really good exhibits. Some are just propaganda. They spend a lot to push their agenda, despite being a great place to see dinosaurs.

The museum is part of the building and the main exhibition is on the first floor. Not a big space but you could spend hours going thru everything. You can ask questions and get answers from scientist working in the labs.

It was pretty cool, but Id wait until all their exhibits are open. Most will be open November 2019. Theres still plenty to see, but we were a little disappointed by the infrequent gaps. There were also several areas were there were supposed to have interactive activities; they were all closed. I dont know if thats because they arent available yet, or because we went on a Sunday.

Great displays. I just have a problem with feathers to dinosaurs presented as secure fact instead instead of May have evolved. Observational science of natural selection over time always ends up with the next species with a loss of information not a gain of additional DNA.

Its a beautiful museum. Admission is free, but you can give a donation (suggested $6) Having recently come from MSUs museum, I have to say I was really impressed with the difference in quality here. The UofM museum building has a really great vibe and the displays are very well done. Lots of Michigan wildlife, full skeletons and some very large dinosaurs on display. Armored fish was one my faves, as well as the Mustelid collection, and of course the wolverine!
