Delicious meal as always, and wonderful service. The foie gras donuts were very different and delicious!

The Federal is The Place to go for any special events. Weve had an 85th birthday party, 25th wedding anniversary, and a bridal shower there. Not to mention just amazing dinners on a regular basis. Everyone talks about the risotto balls and dont get me wrong--there isnt a more perfect bite of food in the universe...but, the truffle Mac and cheese (with or without braised short ribs) is my go to favorite. It is so perfectly balanced. The truffle compliments the blend of cheese and seasoning in the Mac to make something I dream about. The servers are all so incredibly nice and accommodating. The Federal is where to go in Western Mass when you need to celebrate.

My over priced NY strip steak was overcooked to medium well not medium rare like I ordered. That said the Federal was very good at fixing the problem. That was the first meal I ever returned in the over 40 years I have dined there.

About my 10th time here at the Federal.. I was wondering if I just happened to be fortunate with a incredible waitress/waiter or if this really was a 5 star restaurant?Easily the best high end restaurant in Western Massachusetts! The staff is incredible, meals are cooked to perfection, and the drinks are crafted by experienced mixologists!If you are looking for a special dinner, look no further than the Federal!

Went for Valentines dinner. I ordered this: grilled sashimi grade tuna/ 29.95crisp potato and pork belly “hash,” jerusalem artichokes, smoked butter, tarragon, pickled fennel, aleppo pepper. What I got was grilled tuna on some kind of spicy baked beans mixed with mini meatballs and mussels. It was not as described on menu and did not pair well. My husband ordered tenderloin. His dinner plate was paired with a side of pot roast and side of veggie mixture. Not sure why the pot roast was added. The hero of the dish should have been the tenderloin. The dinners seemed thrown together. Maybe they ran out of described ingredients. Even though the plates were confusing regarding ingredients, tuna was cooked good. The tenderloin was over cooked despite cooking preference. My husband asked for medium rare. He received medium well. The service was excellent.

Cant eat any better than the Federal if you are in Agawam, and you might well not do better elsewhere. The new restaurant in Longmeadow is superb but much less formal
